The Middle School is seeking a part-time instructional middle school librarian who is passionate about middle grades literature and committed to collaborating with faculty and students to create a dynamic, research- and project-based learning environment focused on information literacy and 21st century foundational skills.</div><br>

<div><b>
Essential Functions</b></div>
<ul>
<li>Management of the Moxley Library</li>
<li>Oversee student book clubs and the Battle of the Books team</li>
<li>Partner with teachers across the curriculum but especially in the Humanities and Academic Support</li>
<li>Fulfill other duties and responsibilities consistent with full engagement in the life of an independent school</li>
</ul>
<div><b>Education and Experience</b></div>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in education or related field; library or literacy background preferred</li>
<li>One to two years of experience as a librarian or in a literacy-related role</li>
<li>Experience in working with middle-school aged students</li>
</ul>
<div><b>Skills and Abilities</b></div>
<ul>
<li>Self-starter who communicates effectively with others and is comfortable teaching and supporting learning across disciplines</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills</li>
<li>A positive and compassionate approach</li>
<li>Willingness to learn and implement new strategies are fundamental to this role.</li>
<li>Proficient with Office365 and related Microsoft applications.</li>
<li>Manages many tasks and projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.</li>
</ul>
<div><b>Compensation Range:</b> This position is scheduled for 20 hours per week. The pay range is $25,000 &ndash; $32,000. GCS offers a robust benefits package including health insurances, retirement plan, and generous leave and holidays.</div><br>
