JOB SUMMARY:</b></div><div></div><div><br>
The Activity Assistant leads scheduled activities programs for the residents, is responsible for recording attendance to the activities and performs other duties as assigned by the Activity Director.</div><div><b>
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</b></div><ul><li>
Leads resident scheduled activities under the direction of the Activity Director and in cooperation with appropriate resident support groups and Community departments.</li><li>
Consults and works with other departments in implementing appropriate activities as they relate to the physical, emotional and social needs of the individual residents.</li><li>
Coordinates scheduled resident activities and programs, which are sponsored by community groups.</li><li>
Assists with Community volunteers.</li><li>
Works closely with other departments to maximize the level of functioning for community residents.</li><li>
Treat residents, families and visitors of the Community with dignity and respect.</li><li>
Assists in maintaining appropriate records of resident socialization.</li><li>
Prepares and distributes a monthly activity schedule.</li><li>
Follows monthly calendar for scheduled activities.</li><li>
Ensures activity areas are well maintained.</li><li>
Assists with assessments, orientation, and marketing duties as requested.</li><li>
Keeps supervisor informed of department needs.</li><li>
Capture photo and video content to share with families and on social media platforms confirming consent of resident/responsible party.</li><li>
All other duties as assigned.</li></ul><div><b>
EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:</b></div><ul><li>
Ability to demonstrate effective resident supervision.</li><li>
Ability to utilize and apply basic time management principles.</li><li>
Ability to recognize and communicate issues within department, staff and other residents.</li><li>
Ability to relate to the public, residents, families, staff and other professionals appropriately.</li><li>
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.</li><li>
Ability to maintain accurate records.</li><li>
Ability to adhere to and communicate Community policy and procedures.</li><li>
Ability to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the job.</li><li>
Looks for ways to improve the skills of self and staff.</li><li>
Ability to perform assigned tasks in a neat, thorough and timely manner.</li><li>
Maintain current Driver&rsquo;s License.</li><li>
Ability to work with the elderly population.</li><li>
Knowledge of regulations affecting resident activities.</li><li>
Ability to work with a wide range of people and needs.</li><li>
Marketing skills.</li><li>
State Criminal Background Check and LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement.</li><li>
LIC 503 Health Screening Report.</li></ul><div>
 <b>ANY CERTIFICATION PER STATE REQUIREMENT:</b></div><ul><li>
Tuberculosis (TB) clearance as required by the State.</li><li>
First Aid and CPR Certifications as required by the State.</li><li>
Criminal Background check cleared.</li><li>
Certification and/or License as required by State.</li><li>
Fingerprint clearance as required by State.</li><li>
Must be at least 18 years of age as outlined in state regulations.</li><li>
Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>

Physical Requirements</b></div><ul><li>
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.</li><li>
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as part of regular duties.</li><li>
Ability to talk and hear to communicate effectively with residents and staff.</li><li>
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently.</li><li>
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.</li><li>

Physical injury from transferring, repositioning, or lifting residents</li><li>
Various drugs, chemicals, infectious, or biological hazards</li><li>

On-call work may be required on an as-needed basis.</li><li>
Occasional travel may be necessary.</li><li>
There is no anticipated regular exposure to latex or blood-borne pathogens.</li></ul><div>
Professional office environment. Uses PC, telephones, word processing and other standard office equipment. Attends business-related functions. Occasional travel to communities, various sales calls and industry meetings/conferences.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
