Job Summary</h3>
Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking dedicated and compassionate Physicians to join our growing team. We have openings across 23 urgent care centers in Northern Virginia, offering flexible scheduling options including PRN, part-time, and full-time roles.
The Physician is responsible for providing quality medical care to Inova Health System patients and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. This role will also be responsible for conducting comprehensive medical exams, making diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and providing education and guidance to patients on disease prevention and management.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Job Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>
Completes initial assessments and evaluations of new patients and provides ongoing monitoring of patients' medical conditions while providing treatment.</li><li>
Orders prescription medications and diagnostic procedures while authorizing and coordinating all specialty and ancillary services.</li><li>
Participates in the development of such programs as preventive health screenings, immunization programs, professional community outreach, quality assurance and others.</li><li>
Participates in a wide range of clinical research projects and studies.</li><li>
Participates in multidisciplinary team activities such as case conferences.</li><li>
Provides in-service staff development and clinical teachings to trainees rotating through medical practice.</li><li>
Maintains a consultative relationship with nurses, social workers, staff clinic nurses and rehabilitation staff.</li><li>
May perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Minimum Qualifications</h3>
Education: 
Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution. Board eligible or board certified in Family Medicine.
Experience: 
Successful completion of Family Medicine residency program.
Licensure: 
Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
Payer Credentialing: 
Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and ability to enroll as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor.
Medical Staff Credentialing: 
Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">

About the Role
As a Physician, you&rsquo;ll provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You&rsquo;ll treat acute conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, minor infections, and injuries. Working independently, you&rsquo;ll use your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while collaborating with advanced practice providers and escalating care when necessary.
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Examine and treat patients across all age groups</li><li>
Take comprehensive medical histories</li><li>
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays</li><li>
Diagnose conditions and prescribe medications</li><li>
Treat minor injuries including suturing, splinting, and casting</li><li>
Record progress notes and manage follow-up care</li><li>
Educate and counsel patients on health and wellness</li><li>
Administer vaccinations and refer patients for specialized care</li><li>
Supervise GoHealth PA/NPs remotely and act as a Collaborating Physician during credentialing</li><li>
Work scheduled shifts of 8 or 12 hours</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul>
Qualifications
Education:<ul><li>
Graduate of an accredited medical school</li></ul>
Experience:<ul><li>
2&ndash;5 years of post-residency clinical experience</li><li>
Minimum 18 months in applicable practice setting</li><li>
Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred</li></ul>
Licensure/Certifications:<ul><li>
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine (ABMS or AOA)</li><li>
Active state medical license</li></ul>
Skills &amp; Abilities:<ul><li>
Experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine</li><li>
Proficiency in office procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting)</li><li>
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (preferred)</li><li>
Strong communication, listening, and customer service skills</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems</li><li>
Multilingual communication skills</li><li>
Familiarity with telemedicine platforms</li><li>
Basic understanding of medical billing and coding</li></ul>
