The Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of an urgent care provider. Manages the check-in and registration process, interview patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts. </p><p>Essential Functions</p><ul><li>
Conduct patient registration, which includes securing required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verification of insurance and patient eligibility.</li><li>
Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments for assigned centers.</li><li>
Coordinate provider referrals to assigned Specialist.</li><li>
Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status.</li><li>
Inform technical staff of patient flow.</li><li>
Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit</li><li>
Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to the provider as needed.</li><li>
Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to providers.</li><li>
Responsible for stocking supplies and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have medical supplies needed.</li><li>
Responsible for completing order sheets to maintain supply inventory levels; regularly checking expiration dates on supplies.</li><li>
Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files.</li><li>
Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence</li><li>
Ensure reception is well maintained</li><li>
Conduct courtesy callbacks for patient follow-up.</li><li>
Perform opening and closing duties, which include cashing out, end-of-day communication, and securing the building.</li><li>
Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed.</li><li>

Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. We offer flexible scheduling options in a collaborative and modern clinical environment.</p><p>

What We&rsquo;re Looking For</p><ul><li>
Board-certified in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds</li><li>
Active state medical license</li><li>
2 years of post-residency clinical experience, ideally in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting</li><li>
Experience treating patients across all age groups</li><li>
Strong communication and listening skills</li><li>
Comfort collaborating with advanced practice providers</li></ul><p></p><p>
Your Role</p><p>
As a Physician at Mercy-GoHealth, you&rsquo;ll independently provide a wide range of clinical services, including:</p><ul><li>
Examining and treating patients with acute conditions</li><li>
Taking medical histories and ordering diagnostic tests</li><li>
Making diagnoses and prescribing medications</li><li>
Performing minor procedures and administering vaccinations</li><li>
Documenting patient progress and coordinating follow-up care</li><li>
Supervising and collaborating with PA/NPs, including remote supervision and credentialing support</li><li>
Working 8- or 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting</li></ul><p></p><p>
