ROLE OVERVIEW

This role is ideal for someone who loves storytelling, strategic communication, and member outreach. As the Marketing and Membership Specialist, you&rsquo;ll help shape how the Chamber communicates its mission, supports its members, and promotes local initiatives. You&rsquo;ll play a vital role in helping businesses feel connected and supported, while ensuring our business community feels informed and involved. If you&rsquo;re a natural connector with strong organizational skills and a passion for local impact, we&rsquo;d love to meet you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing &amp; Promotion
<ul><li>Create compelling content that tells the story of the Chamber&rsquo;s impact&mdash;through visuals, video, and written narratives</li></ul>
<ul><li>Design digital and print materials including weekly e-newsletters, event flyers, brochures, and presentation slide decks</li></ul>
<ul><li>Manage social media channels with fresh, engaging posts tailored to target audiences; includes short-form copywriting, graphics, and video</li></ul>
<ul><li>Oversee the Chamber&rsquo;s digital presence, ensuring brand consistency and maximizing reach across platforms</li></ul>
<ul><li>Develop and execute marketing campaigns to promote events, programs, and member benefits</li></ul>
<ul><li>Update and maintain website content, keeping information fresh, relevant, and optimized for SEO</li></ul>
<ul><li>Capture and share event moments through photography, captions, and member spotlights</li></ul>

Membership Engagement &amp; Growth
<ul><li>Welcome new members, maintaining relationships, and ensuring renewals</li></ul>
<ul><li>Communicate the value of membership through personalized outreach and strategic messaging</li></ul>
<ul><li>Track and process membership dues and sponsorship invoices, ensuring timely follow-up and payment</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintain a contact plan for new, existing, and renewing members to foster ongoing engagement</li></ul>
<ul><li>Lead the Chamber Ambassadors, coordinating monthly outreach efforts to support retention and recruitment</li></ul>
<ul><li>Analyze data and member feedback to identify growth opportunities and improve engagement strategies</li></ul>
<ul><li>Develop new touchpoints and formats to better serve members, integrating innovative technologies and communication styles</li></ul>

Community &amp; Events
<ul><li>Assist with scheduling, promoting, and executing events, ensuring high visibility and member participation</li></ul>
<ul><li>Actively participate in Chamber events, serving as a visible and outgoing ambassador of the organization</li></ul>
<ul><li>Collaborate with volunteers, sponsors, and stakeholders to build a supportive network and enhance program success</li></ul>
<ul><li>Update community and Chamber calendars with accurate, timely information</li></ul>

Administrative Support
<ul><li>Maintain and update the membership database</li></ul>
<ul><li>Answer phones, greet walk-ins, and respond to emails and online inquires</li></ul>
<ul><li>Record minutes during meetings as needed</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assist with general office duties and other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.</li></ul>

QUALIFICATIONS
<ul><li>Proficient in Canva and social media marketing</li></ul>
<ul><li>Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills</li></ul>
<ul><li>Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)</li></ul>
<ul><li>Highly organized with excellent time management</li></ul>
<ul><li>Self-starter with a positive, team-oriented mindset</li></ul>
<ul><li>Adaptive and flexible in a fast-paced, collaborative environment</li></ul>
<ul><li>Knowledge of McPherson area preferred</li></ul>
<ul><li>Passion for community development and economic growth</li></ul>

REPORTING STRUCTURE

Marketing and Membership Specialists reports directly to the Executive Director

COMPENSATION &amp; PERKS
<ul><li>Full-time (40 hrs./week) with flexible scheduling</li></ul>
<ul><li>Hourly wage: $18&ndash;$20 (based on experience)</li></ul>
