Certified Medical Assistant_Integrative Medicine JOB SUMMARY Medical Assistant Back Office Under the direction of the health care provider, the Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients. Accurately performs preliminary physical tests such as: measuring blood pressure, recording weight, temperature, pulse and respiration and other measures as directed by established clinical protocols.EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION <ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent and CPR certification from AHA</li><li>Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program is required</li><li>Prior clinical experience in medical office or hospital setting is preferred</li><li>Medical Assistant certification and maintenance of current certified status through one of the following: The American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists Association, the National Association for Health Professionals, the National Center for Competency Testing, the National Healthcare Association or American Allied Health</li></ul>JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS <ul><li>High Leadership Competencies, Organization Skills and Attention to Detail</li><li>Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with constantly changing priorities</li><li>Ability to listen and communicate effectively</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective relations with supervisor, staff and patients</li><li>Understands the fundamental importance of customer service and the adherence to regulatory standards and the achievement of business objectives</li><li>Working knowledge of medical terminology</li><li>Proficiency with EMR systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite is preferred</li><li>Excels in an environment of rapid evolution and change</li></ul>JOB DUTIES<ul><li>Takes, records, and reports patient vital signs using medical equipment; performs procedures of low complexity such as visual acuity, development and/or musculoskeletal screening, POC testing, phlebotomy, EKG testing, and other approved clinic specific diagnostic testing</li><li>Competently assists providers to maximize patient volume, administers medications, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and returns patient calls in a timely manner</li><li>Ensures effective patient communication and efficient patient flow. Documents patient care accurately and timely</li><li>Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential</li><li>Works and communicates effectively with all providers. Promotes teamwork. Provides great customer service in person and on the telephone</li><li>Escorts or transports patients to exam rooms or other areas as directed</li><li>Documents completion of patient care tasks in medical records, and reinforces education provided by the physician or nurse practitioner seeking assistance from the nurse practitioner or physician as appropriate. Confirms appropriate patient consent and authorization forms are signed for medical treatment(s)</li><li>Assists in care of patients by preparing exam rooms for patient care, facilitating use of diagnostic equipment, and ensuring availability of needed patient information, such as results of diagnostic exams and medical records</li><li>May perform a variety of administrative/clerical duties, such as, scheduling patient appointments, lab calls, RX call-ins and refills, etc.</li><li>Inspects equipment and facilities visually and physically to ensure patient safety and proper functioning. Maintains adequate stock of supplies as required for work area.</li><li>May provide occasional working supervision to non-licensed medical and/or clerical office support personnel for clerical functions or other non-clinical activities</li><li>Serves and protects the physician and Gonino Center for Healing by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements</li><li>Enhances Gonino Center for Healing&rsquo;s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>SALARY Commensurate with experienceJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:<ul><li>Employee discount</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person
