Long Island based food manufacturer, seeking Sanitation workers. This position is responsible for general sanitation work for entire plant.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Responsible for wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)</li><li>Perform tasks associated with general sanitation &ndash; to include scrub, scrape, and wash equipment to perfect sanitary condition.</li><li>Spend almost all the time on their feet and moving.</li><li>Significant strength is required for many cleaning operations</li><li>Must be able to control high-pressure hoses (e.g., 250 psi is common), lift heavy containers of chemicals, and empty trash receptacles around production.</li><li>Could be expected to lift loads of 50 pounds or more in a single motion.</li><li>Break down production equipment</li><li>Prepare machinery for next shift</li><li>Keep plant trash removed on a timely basis</li><li>Be aware of your surroundings as the floors are slippery</li><li>Follow sanitation dress code standards and maintains good personal hygiene</li><li>Follow sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)</li><li>Able to learn how to clean and sanitize packaging equipment</li><li>Sweep, mop, clean, and sanitize floors</li><li>Able to learn how to operate floor scrubbing equipment and pressure washer</li><li>Participate in ongoing training sessions for the Sanitation Department</li><li>Mandatory participation in weekly deep-cleaning operations to ensure plant is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized</li><li>Perform all work assignments for position in accordance with specifications, instructions, and requirements</li><li>Demonstrate good verbal communication skills</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Required:<ul><li>Must have reliable transportation</li><li>Must speak English</li><li>Must have a flexible schedule which includes availability to work overtime</li><li>Work schedule requires flexibility in shift hours as staff will need to stay until tasks are completed</li><li>High School Diploma</li><li>Ability to lift 50lbs</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Health Insurance</li><li>Dental Insurance</li><li>Vision Insurance</li><li>401k with company match</li><li>Profit Sharing</li><li>PTO</li><li>Paid Holidays</li><li>Stable working environment</li></ul>The above description reflects the details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job and should not be construed as a detailed descriptions of all the work requirements that may be performed in the job.EOE/Minorities/Females/Veterans/Disabled.
