GOVERNOR&rsquo;S OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL PROSECUTING ATTORNEYOFFICE OF CHIEF COUNSEL, DEPARTMENT OF STATEThe Pennsylvania Governor&rsquo;s Office of General Counsel (OGC) seeks a licensed attorney with litigation and/or or administrative law experience to work in the Department of State, Office of Chief Counsel, Prosecution Division. The position is located at 2400 Thea Drive, Harrisburg and will be eligible for a hybrid remote/in-office schedule of three days onsite and two days telework at the discretion of the General Counsel. The position will be classified as either an Attorney 1, 2, 3, or 4, depending on the level of relevant experience possessed by the successful applicant.What You&rsquo;ll Do:As an attorney in the Prosecution Division, you&rsquo;ll play a vital role in safeguarding the public by holding licensed professionals accountable to the highest standards. Our team prosecutes cases involving a wide range of occupations regulated by the 29 professional licensure boards under the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs (BPOA), part of the Pennsylvania Department of State.You&rsquo;ll be at the forefront of legal action&mdash;investigating complaints, evaluating evidence, and initiating disciplinary proceedings for violations of professional practice acts. Your work will include:&middot; Drafting and filing legal pleadings, motions, and briefs&middot; Negotiating consent agreements and settlements&middot; Litigating cases before hearing examiners, boards, and commissionsThis is a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful public service, sharpen your litigation skills, and make a tangible impact on professional standards across the Commonwealth.What We&rsquo;re Looking For:Experience as a licensed attorney preparing for, participating in, and/or appealing formal hearings or trials involving litigation and/or administrative law at the Federal, State or local level is preferred. Qualifying litigation experience involves cases in which a complaint was filed with a court, or a charging document (e.g., indictment or information) was issued by a court, a grand jury, or appropriate military authority. Qualifying administrative law experience involves cases in which a formal procedure was initiated by a governmental administrative body.The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively. Strong oral communication skills are essential, including comfort with both in-person and remote interactions (e.g., phone, video conferencing).Equally important are outstanding interpersonal skills&mdash;the ability to build trust, foster mutual respect, and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with internal Commonwealth clients and colleagues.
