Title: Hybrid Program Middle School Science Teacher (Part-Time) 
 
General Description of Duties and Responsibilities: 
The Hybrid Program Middle School Science Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in both in-person days and provide instructional resources and supports for at-home learning days, where students attend classes on campus two days a week and participate in home-based learning for three days. The teacher will engage students in Christ-centered learning, provide instruction, and collaborate with parents (co-teachers) to ensure effective support of students&rsquo; academic growth and development in a hybrid environment. 
 
Essential Job Requirements 
 
Instructional Delivery: 
<ul><li>Plan and teach engaging lessons that are designed for both on-campus and home-based learning.</li><li>Deliver in-person lessons on campus two days a week, ensuring that they align with the curriculum goals and standards.</li><li>Develop clear and detailed at-home assignments and instructional resources for students to complete independently or with parental support during the remote learning days.</li><li>Provide virtual instructional resources and check-ins with students on remote days to ensure academic progress.</li></ul> 
 
Parental Collaboration: 
<ul><li>Communicate regularly with parents to provide guidance and feedback on at-home learning, ensuring they are equipped to support their child.</li><li>Offer strategies for parents to create an effective home learning environment and assist them with resources or troubleshooting as needed.</li><li>Conduct virtual or in-person conferences with parents as necessary to discuss student progress, challenges, and successes.</li></ul> 
 
Curriculum Development: 
<ul><li>Develop and adapt lesson plans that are suitable for both in-person and home learning environments.</li><li>Ensure the hybrid model fosters a seamless learning experience, integrating technology where appropriate.</li><li>Collaborate with other teachers to ensure consistency and alignment of the curriculum for the hybrid program.</li></ul> 
 
Assessment and Feedback: 
<ul><li>Assess student work completed during at-home learning days, providing timely and constructive feedback.</li><li>Track student progress both on-campus and at home, adjusting teaching methods and resources as needed to support individual learning styles and needs.</li><li>Use a variety of assessment tools to gauge student understanding and adjust instructional practices accordingly.</li></ul> 
 
Classroom and Online Management: 
<ul><li>Foster a positive, Christ-centered learning environment both in-person and in at-home learning.</li><li>Maintain clear communication with students about expectations for behavior, assignments, and deadlines.</li><li>Utilize learning management systems and other digital platforms for effective classroom management and communication with students and parents.</li></ul> 
 
Professional Development and Team Collaboration: 
<ul><li>Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and planning sessions to continuously improve instructional methods.</li><li>Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for managing hybrid learning.</li></ul> 
 
Spiritual 
<ul><li>Must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and a lifestyle of biblical integrity.</li><li>Must be an active member of a local church.</li><li>Fully supportive of the decisions and loyal to the mission and leadership of the school and Grace Baptist Church.</li><li>Passion for connecting with teachers, students, and families to support student/ teacher success within a Christian environment.</li></ul>
 
Education 
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in education (minimum).</li><li>ACSI Certification required.</li></ul>
 
Experience 
 
<ul><li>At least 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a hybrid, online, or blended learning environment.</li><li>Experience in Christian education is strongly preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with hybrid or remote learning technologies and platforms.</li></ul> 
 
Computer software 
<ul><li>Ability to produce complex documents in Google.</li><li>Ability to design Google Sheets spreadsheets with simple calculations.</li><li>Ability to use various learning center management platforms ( Renweb, Google Classroom).</li></ul>
 
Additional Skills 
<ul><li>Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence.</li><li>Must be an effective communicator with good speaking and writing skills in English.</li><li>Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.</li><li>High level of motivation and personal accountability.</li><li>A spirit of dedication, commitment, flexibility and responsiveness.</li><li>Must be comfortable in a multi-tasking environment.</li></ul> 
 
Part-Time Hybrid Teachers will serve 29 hours a week with providing 2 days a week of in-person learning at school and providing instructional resources and support for at-home learning days 3 days a week. 
 
The qualified candidate must personally affirm and uphold the doctrinal positions outlined in the Baptist Faith &amp; Message (2000) and the principles established in the Nashville Statement (2017) demonstrating a lifestyle and ministry consistent with these commitments.</div>
