Grassroots Crisis Intervention

Position Summary:Grassroots has an opening for OMHC Clinician who will provide assessment and counseling to patients and their family members at the Grassroots Outpatient Mental Health Clinic/Substance Use Disorder Crisis Stabilization Center. The OMHC Clinician will conduct intakes and provide individual, family, and couples therapy; prepare treatment planning; and conduct group therapy. The OMHC Clinician will also complete SUD assessments and make recommendations for treatment. This position works Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm.Education and Experience:<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s degree in Social Work or Counseling/Psychology.</li><li>LGPC or LMSW required</li><li>At least 1+ years training/experience working in a mental health setting.</li></ul>Position Responsibilities:<ul><li>Conduct intake and psychosocial assessment with OMHC, Crisis Stabilization, Urgent Care, and SUD clients.</li><li>Conduct family, group, couple or individual psychotherapy as needed.</li><li>Contribute to client&rsquo;s development and help them maintain stable functioning.</li><li>Assist in the early detection of at-risk clients.</li><li>Assist in the development of plans to prevent worsening of client&rsquo;s condition.</li><li>Provide Psycho-educational classes to promote education that either supplements or replaces individual consultative treatment.</li><li>Determine the urgency of client&rsquo;s need.</li><li>Provide treatment to children, adolescents, and adults.</li><li>Render immediate and appropriate guidance as well as therapy for members in need of clinical services or in crisis.</li><li>Provide clinical consultation in regard to family interactions, community resources and socio-cultural determinants.</li><li>Provide counseling, resource information, telephone assessment and referrals.</li><li>Provides multidimensional assessment and clinical evaluation, including diagnostic impression and Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)</li><li>Completes and maintains accurate records or reports regarding clients' history and progress, services provided, or other required information</li><li>Counsels clients to assist in overcoming barriers, adjusting to life, and/or making changes and refers clients to community or social service programs as appropriate</li><li>Assists clients in removing barriers to treatment by seeking psychiatric evaluation, coordinating medical stabilization, applying for health insurance, seeking grant funding for treatment services, and/or collaborating with clients&rsquo; natural supports when necessary</li><li>Interviews clients, reviews records, and confers with other professionals to evaluate individuals' mental and physical conditions to determine the appropriate level of care</li><li>Through follow-ups, reviews and evaluates clients' progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment or action plans</li><li>Intervenes as an advocate for clients to resolve imminent problems in crisis situations</li><li>Coordinates follow through with mental health professionals, courts, probation officers, community services, or other post-treatment agencies</li><li>Collaborates with other professionals to assess client needs and/or plan treatments</li><li>Provides clients or community members with information about addiction issues and about available services or programs, making appropriate referrals when necessary</li><li>Other duties as assigned, required or needed.</li></ul>Agency-wide Responsibilities:<ul><li>Reads 100% of all email communications and responds to emails in a timely manner prior or during their shifts</li><li>Participates in supervision, in-service training, and staff meetings</li><li>Maintains good working relationships with co-workers and positively contributes to group morale</li><li>Completes all administrative duties including time sheets, leave requests, etc.</li><li>Participates in special task forces, committees, or special projects as needed</li><li>Uses appropriate channels of communication to resolve conflicts with other staff</li><li>Interacts with staff, clients, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner</li></ul>Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>Proficiency in treating the span of developmental stages</li><li>Previous training cum experience in group cum family therapy</li><li>Proficiency in different treatment modalities regarding individual, family, group and child therapy</li><li>Knowledge of behavioral therapy and concepts</li><li>Computer skills with various software and the internet</li></ul>Work Conditions:<ul><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard</li><li>Must be able to lift 25lbs</li><li>Must be willing to use own vehicle for company-related transportation, including obtaining medications from the pharmacy, attending community meetings, etc.</li><li>Works some holiday shifts during the year</li><li>Shared office space.</li></ul>Pay: $74,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Master's (Required)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Social work: 1 year (Required)</li><li>Clinical counseling: 1 year (Required)</li><li>Crisis intervention: 1 year (Required)</li><li>Mental health counseling: 1 year (Required)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>LGPC (Required)</li><li>LMSW (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
