Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Mainframe DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the migration of Mainframe applications to a git-based SCM while applying DevOps principles and practices to streamline the software development and deployment processes.. You will have the opportunity to grow your skills and contribute to the modernization and automation of Mainframe migration processes.DutiesMainframe application migration Support:<ul><li>Collaborate with senior engineers to understand and support existing Mainframe application migration to git-based SCM.</li><li>Troubleshoot migration issues to ensure clean application migration.</li></ul>&zwj;Version Control and Configuration Management:<ul><li>Learn and use version control tools (e.g., Git) to manage code changes efficiently.</li><li>Learn concepts and basics of mainframe-based SCM</li><li>Document the migration steps and different activities.</li></ul>&zwj;Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):<ul><li>Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines for Mainframe applications.</li><li>Proficient in orchestration tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Gitlab etc.</li><li>Automate build, test, and deployment processes to accelerate software delivery.</li></ul>&zwj;Scripting and Automation:<ul><li>Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Shell, Python, Groovy etc.) to automate Mainframe migration tasks.</li><li>Improve and optimize automation scripts.</li></ul>&zwj;Collaboration and Communication:<ul><li>Collaborate with internal as well as client teams, including developers, testers, and system administrators, to facilitate smooth migration and pipeline implementation.</li><li>Communicate effectively within the team and share knowledge to foster a collaborative environment.</li></ul>&zwj;Documentation:<ul><li>Document processes, procedures, and configurations as part of client deliverables as well as to ensure knowledge sharing and maintaining knowledge base.</li></ul>&zwj;Learning and Skill Development:<ul><li>Stay up-to-date with Mainframe technologies, DevOps practices, and industry trends.</li><li>Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills..</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.</li><li>3-5 years experience in Mainframe technology and DevOps practices.</li><li>Proficient with version control systems like Git.</li><li>Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., JAVA, Python).</li><li>Good problem-solving and analytical skills.</li><li>Effective communication and teamwork abilities.</li><li>Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $93,391.99 - $112,472.07 per yearWork Location: Remote
