<div>Summary/objective:
Technician A requires above average mechanical knowledge and performs most mechanical tasks assigned to them, including the following jobs or services: brakes, rotors, fluid exchanges, oil change, transmission, differential, cooling system maintenance, repairing and replacing tires and additional services (e.g. wiper blades, air filters, etc.). Technician A communicates with customers, educating them on necessary preventive vehicle maintenance. Additional duties may include some courtesy services, tire repair and replacement services.
**You are paid an hourly rate and a commission percentage that is standard across the company.
Essential Duties<ul><li>
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with supervisory direction and factory standards.</li><li>
Work on more complex repairs and diagnostics than Tech B or C, including transmissions, heavy-line repairs and engine overhauls.</li><li>
Helps in the training of Technicians B and/or Technician C team members.
</li><li>Repair knowledge of Brakes, A/C services, Transmissions, Power Steering and Suspension Repairs and more. Diagnoses most cars that come through the shop, then repairs vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection.</li><li>
Examines assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.</li><li>
Partner with the Center Manager on scheduling repairs out for the day.</li><li>
Documents all work performed and recommended. Road tests vehicles as needed.</li><li>
Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notify the manager immediately of any damage that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.</li><li>
Keeps the shop areas neat, clean and organized.</li><li>
Maintains and is accountable for all store-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.</li><li>
Understands, and comply with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know -this includes any SOP of our company guidelines and rules.</li><li>
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management</li><li>
Participates in organization-sponsored training programs.</li><li>
Other tasks as assigned.</li></ul>
Qualifications: Education and/or Experience<ul><li>
Five(5) plus years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine tickets, notes and other correspondence.
</li><li>Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.</li><li>
Valid Driver's License</li></ul><ul><li>
State Emission Certification- if applicable in your state</li><li>
Current ASE Certifications are a huge plus in this role.</li><li>
State Vehicle Inspector Certification- if applicable in your state</li></ul>
Physical Demands / Work Environment and Requirements<ul><li>
We require tools for this position that enable you to perform the majority of services that you are qualified to perform. You will need to have a toolbox with tools on site.</li><li>
You will be required to sign a contract with our uniform policy and procedure plan.</li><li>
Ability to work in cramped places, such as underneath a jacked-up automobile or a lower bay.</li><li>
Upper body strength and stamina to effectively use hand tools like hammers and wrenches and to make sure that fasteners are properly secured.</li><li>
Fine motor skills to be able to work with small fasteners, such as nuts, bolts, and washers.</li><li>
Vision: Ability to read diagrams, manuals and emails. Often, you are required to work with color-coded wiring.</li><li>
Ability to work in fluctuating and sometimes extreme weather temperatures</li></ul></div>
