<div><div><b>JOB SUMMARY</b><br>
Nurture the potential in our youngest members (6 weeks to about 8 years old) by fostering a safe, fun, and caring environment to learn and grow with the Y. Deliver peace-of-mind to the parents as you build relationships and trust that their children will thrive in our care.</div>
<div><b>Wednesday and Thursday evenings 4:30-6:30 PM</b></div>
<div><br>
<b>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</b></div>
<ul><li>Engage with children with age-appropriate activities and play. Provide opportunities for children to learn and explore through toys, books and games.</li>
<li>Welcome and greet parents and children, learn their names, and build relationships.</li>
<li>Monitor room for safe surroundings and establish safe play expectations with all. Redirect or correct inappropriate behaviors and provide age appropriate consequences.</li>
<li>Assist parents/caregivers with the safe check-in and out procedures. Ensure children are all safely accounted for during their visit to Child Watch. Adhere to all tracking measures put in place for your specific Child Watch.</li>
<li>Keep kids clean and comfortable, including bottle feeding infants and changing diapers.</li>
<li>Provide escorts to children from room to classes as approved and pre-arranged.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean work environment, safe from hazards to staff and children. Follow opening or closing procedures for the room to prepare for shift.</li>
<li>Act according to facility protocol to ensure safety of all staff and children which includes:
<ul><li>Adhere to policies related to boundaries with staff and children.</li>
<li>Attend required abuse risk management training.</li>
<li>Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.</li>
<li>Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.</li>
</ul></li><li>Maintain a professional appearance and be prepared to make all parents, families, and children feel welcome and appreciated.</li>
</ul><div><b>SKILLS AND TRAINING</b></div>
<ul><li>Some experience with parenting, babysitting, childcare or otherwise interacting with and caring for groups of children and infants 6 weeks through 8 years old is preferred.</li>
<li>Requires a demonstrated ability to positively interact with people of all ages (playing with children at their ability level, playing on the floor, discussing relevant issues with parents).</li>
<li>Applicants must be at least 16 years of age or turning 16 within 30 days of application.</li>
<li>CPR certifications are required within the first 60 days of employment.</li>
</ul><div><b>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</b></div>
<ul><li>The ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, move quickly, and/or lift at least 30 pounds will be necessary to fully engage with the children in our care.</li>
<li>Ability to administer CPR if required.

<li><b>Safety</b>: Adhere to and enforce safety policies and procedures for the association.</li>
