The Operations Manager provides full leadership and accountability for all plant operations, including safety, production, quality, maintenance, engineering, environmental compliance, and cost performance. This role drives a culture of extreme ownership, zero injuries, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while ensuring manufacturing objectives, budgets, and workforce plans are achieved. The Plant Manager develops and executes short- and long-term operating strategies, leads and develops leaders at all levels, and ensures adherence to company policies, labor standards, and safety regulations to deliver efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective operations.
 
Pay is $125k - $160k based on experience.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
<ul>
<li>Direct and plan maintenance operations to maximize equipment uptime and production.</li>
<li>Develop an effective machinery maintenance program, including preventive and predictive maintenance.</li>
<li>Maintain close observation over maintenance operations, providing guidance concerning proper maintenance methods.</li>
<li>Oversee the development and operation of maintenance data systems, delay reporting, inventory control, equipment history, and maintenance cost tracking.</li>
<li>Maintain an attitude of extreme ownership over all plant operations, safety and performance.</li>
<li>Drive for no injuries through communication, training and leadership by example.</li>
<li>Develop, establish, and administer short- and long-term manufacturing and operating plans to meet established goals and objectives.</li>
<li>Ensure adherence to established manufacturing plans and policies.</li>
<li>Participate with the development and administration of plans for Maintenance, Plant Engineering and Environmental.</li>
<li>Ensure adherence to established plans and policies.</li>
<li>Coordinate and expedite manufacturing operations including such matters as production scheduling, engineering, procurement, production operations, tooling and maintenance.</li>
<li>Employ proper motivating techniques and delegate appropriate authority to department managers to accomplish goals and objectives.</li>
<li>Maintain supervision over production operations, coordinating with Maintenance, Plant Engineering and Environmental.</li>
<li>Maintain conformance with budget, and proper utilization of personnel, equipment, and facilities.</li>
<li>Counsel, coach and develop supervisors and nonexempt associates.</li>
<li>Ensure that all departments follow established guidelines for safety, production, quality, and environmental quality.</li>
<li>Optimize production schedules and meet quality and cost standards.</li>
<li>Maximize production efficiency and continuously seek to reduce the cost of operations by developing new and refining current processes and utilizing the work force more efficiently.</li>
<li>Oversee and direct the preparation of operating budgets for plant departments.</li>
<li>Administer budgets and monitor budget compliance during the business year, taking appropriate corrective action in the event of a budget variance.</li>
<li>Oversee and coordinate various programs and functions which are essential to the manufacturing process, such as safety, training, housekeeping, wage and salary administration, and plant protection and security.</li>
<li>Maintain an adequate workforce to fulfill production requirements.</li>
<li>Participate in the interview process for management positions as necessary.</li>
<li>Lead and pursue strategies to enhance associate morale and maintain union-free environment and to maximize production efficiency.</li>
<li>Oversee efforts which ensure conformance with Company work rules and regulations.</li>
<li>Oversee efforts which encourage the use of safety equipment and devices while encouraging proper housekeeping to produce a safe work environment.</li>
<li>Coach associates to eliminate hazardous conditions and work practices.</li>
<li>Maintain awareness of improved operational methods, production processes, or equipment which improve quality and productivity and reduce waste.</li>
<li>Oversee installation or modification of equipment via Plant Engineering and Maintenance responsibilities.</li>

What We Need From You: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s in business administration or engineering or equivalent.</li>
<li>Seven to ten years of experience.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Excel.</li>
<li>Excellent root cause/corrective action and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Good written and verbal communication skills</li>
</ul>

Job Summary: 
The Layout Technician will be responsible for layouts of machined castings and related tooling/fixtures as well as auditing and inspecting the machining process.
 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Set up and operate the CMM proficiently to perform layouts on castings, fixtures and gages</li>
<li>Layout castings using the conventional height gauges, micrometers, calipers etc. (Table Layouts)</li>
<li>Audit vendor supplied layouts of machining.</li>
<li>Work with CNC machining setup personnel and operators to adjust process/program and achieve conformance of product</li>
<li>Audit machining process and operators to ensure quality of product</li>
<li>Assist in maintaining database of layouts and other quality records in an ‘audit-ready’ state</li>
<li>Participate in dimensional capability studies when and where required.</li>
<li>Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.</li>
<li>Observe all safety and environmental policies of Grede Biscoe and work in a safe and professional manner</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned by supervision.</li>
</ul>
Training Skills: 
<ul>
<li>Employee will take place in training program for specific position.</li>
<li>Willing to learn CMM programming and CNC setup and programming, possibly at an off-site location</li>
<li>Receive training in the automotive industry standard IATF 16949 and ISO 9001</li>
</ul>
Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Minimum of a high school education.</li>
<li>Mathematical background/skills required (algebra and trigonometry).</li>
<li>Must be able to real blueprints.</li>
<li>Must have working knowledge of GD&T</li>
<li>Two years’ experience in a machine shop preferred.</li>
<li>Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds.</li>
<li>Must be able to pass pre-employment, physical, drug screen, and background check.</li>
<li>Must be able to pass medical clearance: asthma, COPD, breathing conditions, respiratory conditions, high blood pressure are potential causes of failing a medical clearance.</li>
