We are seeking a Sr. Property Accountant to join our growing Corporate Accounting Team. In this role, you will interact with corporate leadership and collaborate closely with on-site community managers to provide accounting support, assist in timely completion of monthly accounting processes, and ensure that all transactions related to your portfolio of properties (5 &ndash; 8 communities) are recorded accurately and reported on a timely basis.
Additionally, this position will assist in identifying areas of improvement and implementing best practices to facilitate Green Courte Residential&rsquo;s ongoing expansion
WHAT YOU&rsquo;LL DO:<ul><li>
Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of all required financial information for your assigned portfolio of communities.</li><li>
Collaborate with Community Managers and Accounting Team members to perform day-to-day financial operations such as:<ul><li>
Maintaining tenant ledgers</li><li>
Reviewing AP invoice activity and related GL account coding</li></ul></li><li>
Complete Monthly financial closing process, including:<ul><li>
Bank reconciliations</li><li>
Monthly closing journal entries</li><li>
Managing closing matters</li><li>
Monthly financial reports</li><li>
Balance sheet reconciliations</li></ul></li><li>
Partner with the Reporting team to provide meaningful variance comments.<ul><li>
Assist Operations Team with annual budget process</li><li>
Participate in the external audit process, including preparation of schedulesI</li><li>
Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiencies.</li><li>
Administering accounting procedures and monitoring internal controls</li><li>
Complete other ad hoc projects as assigned in a timely manner.</li><li>
Utilize accounting IT systems such as Yardi and Rent Manager.</li><li>
Complete special projects assigned in a timely manner.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul></li></ul>
REQUIRED SKILLS:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field</li><li>
Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience</li><li>
Advanced degree and/or CPA is strongly preferred, but not required</li><li>
Real estate or manufactured housing background a plus, but not required.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (must be able to manipulate pivot tables &amp; utilize formulas such as xlookups, sumifs, if statements, etc.).</li><li>
Some experience with databases, power query, SQL, VBA, etc. a plus.</li><li>
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.</li><li>
Good verbal and written communication skills that enable you to work in a collaborative manner with diverse teams in a variety of different departments.</li><li>
Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.</li><li>
Strong work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines.</li><li>
Persistent sense of urgency and accuracy, with a keen appreciation for detail.</li><li>
Self-starter with a creative, enthusiastic, innovative, and collaborative outlook.</li><li>
Aptitude for learning and utilizing various accounting systems.</li><li>
Willing to travel 1-2 trips a year for training or to visit communities</li></ul>
