This role will be based in our Atlanta office, on a in-office basis. Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to the Assistant Director of Products Liability.
Position Summary
The Products Liability Paralegal position offers organizational and practice-specific support to Attorneys within the practice group, assisting in case preparation throughout its lifecycle, including related research and analysis. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and effectively . Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed. 
Key Responsibilities
<ul><li>Manages the organization, maintenance, and effective use of documents and case-related materials.
</li><li>Assists Attorneys with the discovery process, including its construction and oversight.
</li><li>Conducts and oversee document reviews, managing projects, tracking, and reporting progress and results.
</li><li>Drafts legal documents such as subpoenas, notices of depositions, and other discovery-related materials.
</li><li>Supports law and motion practice by assembling motion papers and exhibits, coordinating the filing of pleadings and briefs, and ensuring proper service.
</li><li>Performs and oversee both simple and complex cite checking and proofreading of briefs and other legal documents.
</li><li>Assists with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, organizing exhibits, and coordinating witness schedules.
</li><li>Maintains trial calendars and communicate effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff during trials.
</li><li>Corresponds with experts by sending reports and related materials.
</li><li>Maintains all witness files electronically.
</li><li>Supervises the work product of Office Services, including quality control checks of all materials outsourced to that department.
</li><li>Oversees the maintenance of electronic filing and organization by Legal Support Specialists.
</li><li>Delegates and oversee work product of Junior Paralegals and Interns .
</li><li>Monitors court dockets.
</li><li>Interacts with third-party vendors for documents, graphics, and other services.
</li><li>Ensures work areas are presentable and efficient to optimize performance.
</li><li>Maintains timely and accurate timekeeping records and meet billable hour requirements.
</li><li>Mentors new Junior Paralegals and Interns joining the practice group

</li></ul>Education &amp; Prior Experience
<ul><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal in a law firm, demonstrating expertise in complex litigation issues. Products Liability experience is preferred
</li><li>Trial experience, including exhibit and witness preparation, subpoena preparation, collaboration with judicial assistants and trial presentation vendors, and courtroom assistance
</li><li>Bachelor's degree required, Certificate in Paralegal studies from an accredited institution preferred; equivalent experience considered
</li><li>Paralegal certificate a plus
</li></ul>Technology
<ul><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required
</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Access and SharePoint is preferred
</li><li>Proficiency with document management systems and litigation support applications (e.g., Relativity, Opus)
</li><li>Proficiency in e-filing systems such as Pacer, PeachCourt, and Odyssey

Candidates should have 5 - 8 years of patent litigation experience.
Must have experience with all aspects of patent litigation, including managing written discovery, brief writing, substantial deposition experience, and, ideally, some trial experience.
 
 
This qualified individual, based in New York, must possess excellent academic credentials as well as strong legal research, writing and analytical skills. Must be self-motivated and flexible. Prior experience at a national law firm is preferred. Must be admitted in New York.

The expected pay range for this position is:
$365,000 - $435,000 per year
Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average.
