We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Engineer to join our team in Round Lake, IL. In this role, you will bridge the gap between our technical solutions and our clients' needs, ensuring that our products not only meet but exceed customer expectations. You will leverage technical expertise to support customer engagement, translate needs into solutions, and act as a liaison between Sales, Engineering, and Product Management. Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li>Attend customer meetings (virtual and in-person) with sales teams to understand process needs, discuss technical requirements, and introduce Grieve&rsquo;s solutions early in the sales cycle.</li>
<li>
Build credibility with customers by clearly explaining technical concepts and demonstrating understanding of their applications.</li>
<li>
Develop technically sound and commercially competitive solutions that meet customer requirements and align with Grieve&rsquo;s product strategy.</li>
<li>
Provide inside and outside sales teams with technical guidance to advance opportunities and remove barriers to closing.</li>
<li>
Translate customer and sales input into actionable technical requirements to speed up quoting and improve proposal accuracy.</li>
<li>
Evaluate non-standard requests and confirm feasibility with Engineering to maintain momentum on opportunities.</li>
<li>
Ensure timely and accurate communication between Sales and Engineering during quoting and order development.</li>
<li>
Support the creation of compelling technical quotations and proposals that clearly communicate value and strengthen competitive positioning.</li>
<li>
Collaborate on standardization and configuration improvements to increase efficiency, reduce quote cycle times, and support scalable growth.</li>
<li>
Participate in proposal presentations, technical discussions, and customer Q&amp;As to reinforce confidence in solutions and support closing strategies.</li>
<li>
Train sales representatives on product capabilities, differentiators, and application best practices to improve selling effectiveness.</li>
<li>
Share field intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback with Product Management to inform positioning and roadmap priorities.</li>
<li>
Develop and refine technical sales tools that enhance team effectiveness and support deal wins.</li>
<li>
Identify trends and recurring requests that may indicate new revenue opportunities, product improvements, or development paths.</li>
</ul>
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred, or equivalent technical experience.</li>
<li>
5+ years of sales support or customer-facing experience in a B2B or industrial environment.</li>
<li>
Knowledge of industrial heating systems, process equipment, and control systems preferred, or equivalent technical expertise.</li>
<li>
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.</li>
<li>
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and build strong customer relationships.</li>
<li>
Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.</li>
<li>
Willingness to travel periodically to customer sites or sales representative offices (up to 30%).</li>
<li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).</li>
<li>
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).</li>
