BLP is seeking a motivated and caring Paralegal to draft lawsuit answers related to consumer debt and creditor lawsuits. Individuals should be self-starters while working in a team-oriented environment and have strong attention to detail with a focus on providing the highest level of customer service.</p><p>
As a BLP Hearing Coordinator, you will oversee one of the three critical touchpoints in the life cycle of a Full-Service Case. The Hearing Coordinator will be responsible for responsible for managing legal events.</p><p><b>
Hearing Paralegal Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>
Monitor upcoming hearings requiring appearances.</li><li>
Request appearance instructions from attorneys.</li><li>
Request settlement updates from partner companies.</li><li>
Escalate appearance issues to Case Managers.</li><li>
Follow up with network attorneys as needed in the event of missing information.</li><li>
Communicate Appearance results to all parties.</li><li>
Records all hearing data and invoice details in the CRM.</li><li>
Record all communication records to the file.</li></ul><p><b>
Qualifications</b></p><p><i>
Required</i></p><ul><li>
Paralegal certification, similar legal services degree, or 2+ years of paralegal experience.</li><li>
Proactive in finding solutions while also using discernment when a supervisor needs to be looped in.</li><li>
Pattern of meeting or exceeding minimum productivity requirements.</li><li>
Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents.</li><li>
Demonstrates ownership of work and maintains excellent quality standards.</li><li>
Ability to communicate both verbally and in written format at a high level.</li><li>
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.</li><li>
Above average skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook and general knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Excel.</li></ul><p><i>
Preferred</i></p><ul><li>
Experience e-filing in multiple jurisdictions.</li><li>
Minimum of 2 Years of experience in legal case management, with experience working cases through the complete case file.</li><li>
Familiarity with navigating court websites and court records searches.</li><li>
Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving practices.</li><li>
Familiarity with reading court documents and drafting documents for court submissions.</li><li>
Work with a high volume of documents daily and maintain digital organization.</li><li>
Ability to work independently as well as with a team and multi-task on time-sensitive projects.</li><li>
Familiarity with case management software and navigating multiple screens.</li><li>
Effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to attorneys, courts, and other employees of the organization.</li></ul><p>
Full Time; Non-Exempt role<br>
Schedule: Monday through Friday - 9:00am - 5:30pm EST<br>
Pay Cycle: Weekly<br>
Hourly pay rate - $18.00 per hour</p><p>
