As our new Product Development Engineer, you will be developing and maintaining telemetry server applications across the full product lifecycle&mdash;from design and coding through deployment, testing, and customer support&mdash;within our SaaS platform.

What you will be doing</h1> 
As a key part of the Metasphere Product Software team, you'll create impact by Delivering robust, well-documented telemetry solutions that empower a global customer base to gain real-time insights from their connected systems. 
Your main responsibilities include: 
<ul><li>
Take ownership of your tasks and deliver across the full product lifecycle for telemetry server applications: design, development, documentation, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and maintenance</li><li>
Investigate and resolve complex system issues in SaaS telemetry environments, following through from diagnosis to resolution</li><li>
Contribute to stable, operationally reliable SaaS environments including server administration and infrastructure improvements</li><li>
Provide clear, technically sound support to the operations team and customers through ticketing and direct investigation</li><li>
Integrate partner technologies into end-to-end telemetry solutions and facilitate product transfer across the value chain</li><li>
Produce maintainable, well-documented code, tests, and user-facing materials while sharing knowledge across the team</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"> 
What makes you a great fit</h1> 
Above all, you are a hands-on software engineer with 3&ndash;4 years of experience building server-side applications, comfortable working independently across the full product lifecycle and driven to see issues through to resolution. We would also imagine that you have: 
<ul><li>
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent work experience) plus 3&ndash;4 years of software development experience</li><li>
Strong programming skills in Java or C, Python, and SQL with PostgreSQL database experience</li><li>
Hands-on DevOps and CI/CD experience with Jenkins, Docker, Git, and Linux shell scripting</li><li>
Experience with REST API integration, Agile/SCRUM methods, and tools such as Jira</li></ul> 
It is a plus if you also: 
<ul><li>
Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda)</li><li>
Experience with database-related telemetry products or integrating partner technologies into end-to-end solutions</li><li>

Above all, you are a hands-on technical problem solver with strong knowledge of telemetry systems, sensor technologies, and a genuine drive to deliver outstanding support experiences. We would also imagine that you have: 
<ul><li>3+ years of experience in a technical support or field engineering role involving telemetry, sensors, or instrumentation</li><li>Solid understanding of communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, Modbus, Cellular IoT) and sensor technologies</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hardware and software systems</li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences</li></ul></div><div>
It is a plus if you also have: 
<ul><li>Experience with water or pump industry applications and SCADA systems</li><li>Familiarity with IoT platforms and cloud-based monitoring solutions</li><li>HNC/HND or degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline</li></ul></div>

This role is located in our Cambridge office. 
What you will be doing
As a key part of the Analytics Platform Engineering team, you'll create impact by building the intelligent analytics framework that empowers utilities worldwide to prevent infrastructure failures before they happen, protecting communities and the environment. 
Your main responsibilities include: 
<ul><li>
Architect and develop framework components and calculation pipelines for our cloud-based analytics product (MAP platform)</li><li>
Implement data import, cleansing, and processing workflows that transform third-party and internal data into meaningful insights</li><li>
Resolve production bugs and work through the engineering backlog to improve platform reliability and performance</li><li>
Collaborate closely with your small scrum team to deliver iterative releases, incorporate customer feedback, and continuously improve the product</li><li>
Build and maintain predictive analytics features such as overflow alerts for sewage pumps and pipes</li><li>
Contribute architectural decisions that ensure the platform scales reliably in a real cloud environment</li></ul>

5+ years of experience in software product development with cloud-based systems (design, build, deploy, and maintain)</li><li>
Strong skills in building data processing pipelines &mdash; including data import, transformation, cleansing, and calculation workflows</li><li>
Demonstrated experience with architectural design of scalable framework components in a production environment</li><li>
Proven ability to work autonomously in small agile/scrum teams and deliver iterative releases</li></ul> 
It is a plus if you also have
