Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 base salary with 10% yearly bonus eligibilty (prorated)
About the Project:
We are a small, highly focused team building a sophisticated, modular AI platform designed to automate and reason through complex business and technical challenges. Our vision is to create a powerful assistant that is both intelligent and extensible.
Our development philosophy is centered on a clean, service-oriented architecture. We are building a system where a central AI orchestrator communicates with a growing ecosystem of specialized tools via a robust gRPC-based fabric. We leverage a modern data stack (PostgreSQL and Vector Databases) and integrate powerful Large Language Models (like NVIDIA NIM and open-source alternatives) to form the system's core intelligence. This is a ground-floor opportunity to join as a foundational engineering partner and help shape the future of this ambitious platform.

What You'll Do:
As a key member of our founding team, you will play a critical role in developing the core backend and AI capabilities of our platform. Your work will be varied and fundamental to our success:
<ul><li>Build the Backend Fabric: Guide the AI-augmented development of high-performance, modular Python services that form the backbone of our ecosystem.
</li><li>Architect API-Driven Communication: Implement and evolve the gRPC-based APIs that enable seamless, efficient communication between the orchestrator and its various tools.
</li><li>Orchestrate AI &amp; LLMs: Integrate and harness Large Language Models to drive complex workflows, tool selection, and advanced reasoning capabilities.
</li><li>Develop Scalable Data Strategies: Architect and manage our data persistence layer, combining the strengths of relational (PostgreSQL) and vector (ChromaDB) databases.
</li><li>Create Robust Data Pipelines: Build and optimize the data ingestion and processing pipelines that continuously enrich our AI's knowledge base.
</li><li>Collaborate on Core Architecture: Work directly with the Lead Architect to solve challenging technical problems, make key design decisions, and guide the platform's technical direction.
</li></ul>Who You Are (Qualifications):
We're looking for a talented and versatile backend engineer who is passionate about building well-architected systems and is excited by the creative possibilities of modern, AI-driven development.
Required Skills &amp; Experience:
<ul><li>5+ years of professional experience building complex, scalable backend systems.
</li><li>Expert-level Python proficiency , with a deep understanding of object-oriented design, concurrency, and best practices.
</li><li>Strong, demonstrable experience designing and building APIs (gRPC is a significant advantage; extensive REST/FastAPI experience is also highly valued).
</li><li>Solid experience with PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases) and proficiency with an ORM like SQLAlchemy.
</li><li>Practical understanding of Vector Databases (e.g., ChromaDB, Milvus) and their role in AI applications like RAG.
</li><li>Hands-on mastery of Docker for building, shipping, and running applications.
</li><li>Experience integrating with third-party LLM APIs and a solid grasp of concepts like tool calling and prompt engineering.
</li><li>A forward-thinking mindset with a demonstrable ability to understand, review, and integrate complex codebases, including those generated with AI assistance.
</li></ul>Bonus Points (Highly Desirable): A strong aptitude for &quot;Vibe Coding&quot; is a significant advantage. We are looking for someone who is not just open to, but genuinely excited about, an AI-augmented development workflow.

Job Scope/Supervision:
 
The successful candidate should be comfortable working within an expanded and very fast-paced team environment.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

Assisting in customer test &amp; turn-up (DWDM/ADM/Ethernet)
 
o
 
Customer circuit troubleshooting with the aid of industry-standard test equipment.
 
o
 
Liaising with all GTT NOC Engineers and Network Operations departments in other countries
 
o
 
Report writing and creating/maintaining inventories.
 
o
 
Assisting in the management of a Planned Preventative Maintenance program and schedules
 
o
 
Network installations / troubleshooting.

Non-routine duties will be allocated as deemed necessary.

Supervise planned works, carrying out postmortems upon completion to assess the efficiency / financial worth and lessons learned from said works.

Aim to constantly reduce operational running costs.

Review / authorize and manage MOPS (method of procedures) RA&rsquo;s (Risk Assessments) and back out plans prior to on-site works taking place assessing all potential risks and consequences relating to specific works.

Required Experience/Qualifications:

Experience in optical networks and technical facilities required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operational environment in a medium to large-scale carrier / ISP would be a definite advantage.
