We are seeking an unarmed security officer to work the following shifts: Thursday through Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Your work environment is a spacious, climate-controlled lobby with all the amenities. You must have the ability to hold over, if needed, for up to four hours.

Your Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Understands and maintains general post instructions for that assigned post.</li><li>
Maintain practical knowledge of all additional and emergency post instructions that are called for by the client.</li><li>
Maintain access control procedures set by management.</li><li>
Effectively utilize access control systems, visitor management systems and CCTV systems as needed.</li><li>
Document and report any property damage and special occurrences.</li><li>
Monitor CCTVs to guard against theft and trespassing.</li><li>
Respond to incidents and document the event accurately.</li><li>
Greet all residents and/or visitors with a professional demeanor.</li><li>
Sign in and out all guests and vendors.</li><li>
Provide excellent Customer Service, Public Relation interactions and have an Impeccable image at all times.</li></ul>
Requirements:<ul><li>
Strong attention to detail and excellent observation skills</li><li>
Ability to remain calm and composed in all situations.</li><li>
Good communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>
Must be a minimum 21 years of age.</li><li>
Possess a High School Diploma/GED or military service record.</li><li>
Must have a valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) or willing to apply for one.</li><li>
Must have a 20-hour training certificate or complete within in 30 days of employment.</li><li>
All applicants must complete a pre-employment screening process to include drug screening.</li><li>
Maintain an impeccable image and adhere to our professional grooming standards.</li><li>
Must have mature demeanor, personality and attitude.</li><li>

Introduction
Established in 1918, Guardian Service Industries is a 4th generation family-owned Janitorial, Security, Pest Control, and Engineering &amp; Operations staffing corporation. We provide a comprehensive range of essential facility management services to over 1,000 clients across various sectors, inclusive of commercial and government buildings, residential communities, schools, industrial facilities, transportation hubs, and retail outlets throughout the East Coast and New England.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Conducts patrol of the site interior and perimeter to identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions. Evaluates situations and makes logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work.
Maintains order on the site; coordinates expedient responses to emergency conditions, including fires, safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner. Handles undesired conduct, violations of building policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of guests, employees, patrons and property.
Reports all incidents, accidents or medical emergencies.
Monitors site for any unusual activity. In the case of suspicious behavior, reports via radio to the supervisor on duty; reports any alarms similarly.
Maintain surveillance and reporting of any suspicious persons and/or packages.
Required to execute a number of comprehensive and integrated security measures and countermeasures
Must be able to adapt physically and to the changing needs and priorities of the site.
Education and Experience:
High School graduate (some college education is preferred).
Qualifications and Skills:
A minimum of 1+ years of security experience is a +.
Valid NYS Guard License
8 hour + 16 hour certificates
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills preferred.
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Neat and professional appearance
Remain flexible to ever changing environments and schedules
Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard
Reliable and consistent transportation to and from work sites
