WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Paralegal is a non-exempt position responsible for assisting clients by providing clerical and research support services.
<ul><li>Meets clients to gain insight into what the client needs to put in the documents of their assigned case/cases.
</li><li>Assists clients in getting and drafting the necessary legal documents for their case/cases
</li><li>Meets with or speaks with clients and helps them understand how the in-person court date might go, and lets them know of possible outcomes.</li>
<li>Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files for paralegal records and assist clients in keeping their own records organized for their personal files.
</li><li>Assists clients in learning and preparation techniques for their case/cases.
</li><li>Develops personal technique to keep a record of all cases worked on.</li>
<li>Perform all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED:
<ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent with understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
<ul><li>Associate's degree in paralegal studies or related field, preferred.</li>
<li>Or paralegal certificate, preferred.

<li>Knowledge of community resources and organizations</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills</li>
<li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines</li>
<li>Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment</li>
<li>Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment</li>
<li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites or related software</li>
<li>Potential exposure to a stressful environment involving difficult client situations</li>
<li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer</li>
<li>Ability to lift and/or carry supplies, files, etc., up to 25 lbs</li>
<li>Must have a valid driver's license with auto insurance coverage.</li>
