Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and creative Eco Explorers Lead Teacher to guide young learners through a nature-based, hands-on homeschool enrichment program for the January-May semester. This role involves facilitating engaging academic and outdoor learning experiences inspired by child-led exploration, curiosity, and creativity. The ideal candidate will embrace a play-based, holistic approach to education while fostering social, emotional, and academic growth in a nurturing environment. Eco Explorers will meet at M&amp;M Farms on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00-3:00.Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead a mixed-age group of students (ages 8-12) through a blend of academic, art, science, and nature-based lessons.</li><li>Implement curriculum inspired by Wild Math and Blossom &amp; Root, adapting activities to meet the needs and interests of each learner.</li><li>Encourage student curiosity through hands-on exploration, outdoor play, and creative problem-solving.</li><li>Foster a warm, inclusive, and respectful classroom community that supports collaboration and independence.</li><li>Incorporate literacy, numeracy, art, and nature study into daily lessons in developmentally appropriate ways.</li><li>Maintain communication with families to share student progress, weekly themes, and classroom updates.</li><li>Manage the classroom environment to ensure safety, engagement, and respect for both students and the natural setting in cooperation with co-teacher.</li><li>Prepare materials, supplies, and lesson plans that reflect the weekly themes and seasonal learning cycles.</li><li>Support student emotional development through positive guidance and mindful teaching practices.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Elementary Education, or a related field preferred.</li><li>Experience teaching or leading children in homeschool, forest school, or nature-based programs.</li><li>Strong understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning.</li><li>Excellent classroom management and communication skills.</li><li>Passion for outdoor education, hands-on learning, and fostering a love of nature.</li><li>Ability to adapt lessons to multiple learning styles and developmental levels.</li><li>Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.</li><li>CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).</li></ul>Join our team and help spark wonder, creativity, and confidence in young learners through meaningful connections with nature and each other.Job Types: Part-time, ContractPay: From $45.00 per hourExpected hours: 6 per weekWork Location: In person
