Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support our organization&rsquo;s financial health by preparing precise reports, reconciling accounts, and assisting with various accounting functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse accounting software and contribute to the financial success of our organization.Position is intended to transfer into a full time position with benefits, based upon performance.Responsibilities<ul><li>Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections</li><li>Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to maintain accurate financial data</li><li>Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures</li><li>Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify data integrity</li><li>Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms for daily transactions</li><li>Support budgeting activities and assist in financial report writing for internal and external stakeholders</li><li>Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant regulations</li><li>Handle payroll processing, tax filings, and related documentation as needed</li><li>Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions with precision and confidentiality</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Strong proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks Online.</li><li>Solid understanding of corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting practices</li><li>Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, debits &amp; credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting</li><li>Experience with account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation</li><li>Familiarity with GAAP standards and technical accounting concepts</li><li>Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks</li><li>Excellent skills in financial report writing, budgeting, and financial concept application</li><li>Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data accurately</li><li>Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and prepare clear reports</li></ul>Join us to be a vital part of a dedicated team committed to maintaining impeccable financial standards while fostering your professional growth!Pay: $38,000.00 - $46,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Paid training</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Anchorage, AK 99503
