The Opportunity
The Facilities Engineer will oversee all aspects of our building systems and services, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and productive environment for all employees. This hands-on role requires a blend of technical expertise,hands on work ethic, project management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:<ul>
<li>
Building Systems Maintenance: Perform as well as oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC, lighting, and fire protection.</li>
<li>Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure the longevity of all facility equipment.</li>
<li>Project Management: Perform and Manage facility-related projects, including renovations, equipment upgrades, and office reconfigurations, from conception to completion. This includes budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing contractors.</li>
<li>Safety and Compliance: Ensure all facilities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and building codes. Conduct regular safety inspections and drills.</li>
<li>Vendor and Contractor Management: Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and manage the work of external vendors and contractors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.</li>
<li>Energy Management: Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and promote sustainability.</li>
<li>Emergency Response: Serve as a key point of contact for facility-related emergencies and develop and maintain emergency response plans.</li>
<li>Space Planning: Assist with space planning and office moves to accommodate the changing needs of the organization.</li>
</ul>
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:<ul>
<li>
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.</li>
<li>6+ years of experience in facilities engineering or a similar role.</li>
<li>Experience building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression.</li>
<li>Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.</li>
<li>Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul>
<li>
Excellent project management and organizational skills.</li>
<li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.</li>
<li>Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software is a plus.</li>
<li>Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Professional Engineer (PE), or other relevant certifications are preferred</li>
