</ul><div>As the Groundskeeper for Hamilton County, your role entails overseeing a comprehensive grounds maintenance program to maintain outdoor areas. This involves operating various equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, and performing repairs. You'll also assist with building maintenance, contribute to budget preparation, and handle inventory management.</div>
<div></div><div><b>Summary of Job Duties:</b></div>
<div><ul><li>Implements grounds maintenance program; maintains grounds (e.g., cuts and trims grass, landscapes grounds, removes snow and ice, etc.); operates light to heavy equipment to maintain grounds (e.g., tractors, grass cutting mower, chain saws, edgers, trimmers, snow plow, dump truck, etc.); performs skilled and semi-skilled preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical equipment and machinery; lifts heavy loads in performance of duties.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Applies specific trade practices to repair, install and maintain building facilities and to perform construction duties; performs semi-skilled maintenance repairs and services (e.g., changes light bulbs, checks roof and makes repairs, etc.); monitors contacts and projects; may supervise assigned work crew in performance of duties; may pick-up parts and make deliveries.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assists with preparation of the annual grounds maintenance budget; maintains inventory of equipment and supplies; determines supplies and equipment needed to perform functions; maintains records, reports and other required documentation; communicates with suppliers and vendors.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Performs duties of co-workers as required or assigned; may travel to various County Facilities to<br>
perform duties as assigned.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.</li></ul>

<div></div><div><b>Minimum Qualifications:</b></div>
<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED</li>
<li>three (3) years experience in grounds keeping and commercial mowing</li>
<li>advanced knowledge of the following:</li>
<li>grounds keeping duties and equipment</li>
<li>facilities maintenance techniques, construction materials and tools</li>
<li>functional supervision</li>
<li>ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor</li>
<li>or equivalent combination of training and/or experience</li>
</ul><div><b>Hazardous Working Conditions</b></div>
<div>May stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in awkward and cramped positions, or on ladders; could require working outdoors and be subject to inclement weather; lift up to 100 lbs. without material handling device; ability to use and wear personal protective equipment: half-face respirators/dust mask, safety glasses, body harness for fall protection, arc flash clothing level two protection (hard hat, Class 2 gloves/leather, face shield, neck protector, coveralls), fire rated long sleeve shirts, earplugs/muffs, and hand protection.</div>
<div></div><div><b>Position Specific Qualifications</b></div>
<ul><li>Meet maximum weight requirements for ladders, personal fall protection equipment, and aerial lifts. Maximum lbs.<br>
include man and tools. Type 1A &ldquo;Extra Heavy Duty Industrial Ladder&rdquo; &ndash; maximum capacity of 300 lbs. Type 1AA<br>
&ldquo;Special Duty Industrial Ladder&rdquo; &ndash; maximum capacity of 375 lbs. Most personnel fall arrest equipment (full-body<br>
harness &amp; lanyards) is labeled with a capacity limit of 310 lbs. Single Man Lifts &ndash; 300-350 lbs.
</li><li><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></li>
<li>Associate&rsquo;s Degree in horticulture or related field; training and experience which indicates an advanced knowledge of<br>
landscaping design principles and practices, and grounds maintenance.</li>
