Primary purpose of the position</b></p><p>
Manage purchasing operations efficiently, ensuring cost-effective sourcing of materials while maintaining quality and production schedules.</p><p><b>
Major responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Source, negotiate, and procure raw materials, components, and packaging for plastic production and trash cans.</li><li>Work closely with suppliers to manage lead times, pricing and contracts.</li><li>Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to ensure timely material availability.</li><li>Process purchase orders, track shipments, and resolve supply chain issues.</li><li>Maintain and update procurement records in <b>Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018</b> (Navision).</li><li>Analyze data, create reports, and manage procurement workflows.</li><li><b>Update and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) files</b> to reflect accurate component details, costs, and changes in production requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with warehouse production teams to ensure smooth operations.</li><li>Collaborate with the quality team to implement processes for tracking and evaluating vendor performance.</li><li>Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supplier relationships.</li></ul><ul><li>
Collaborate with warehouse team to maintain accurate inventory levels through diligent inventory control practices.</li><li>
Collaborate with production planning teams to forecast material requirements and ensure timely availability of resources.</li><li>
Utilize Dynamic NAV systems for tracking orders, inventory status, managing supplier relationships, and analyzing purchasing and inventory data.</li><li>
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery or quality of goods received.</li><li>
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.</li><li>
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.</li></ul><p><b>
Personal competencies</b></p><ul><li><b>2+ years of procurement experience</b>, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.</li><li><b>Strong proficiency in Excel.</b></li><li>Experience with NAV2018 (Microsoft Dynamics Navision) <b>- must be comfortable managing purchase orders and inventory in the system.</b></li><li><b>Experience updating and maintaining BOM files.</b></li><li>Experience working with plastic materials, components, and supply chains is a plus.</li><li>Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem solving skills.</li><li>Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work <b>independently </b>in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities.</li><li><b>100% on-site position - remote work is not available.</b></li><li><b>Preferred but not required</b>: Ability to speak <b>Chinese</b> (Mandarin) for supplier communication.</li></ul></div></div><div><p>
