POSITION OVERVIEW
The Patient Reception Specialists are responsible for interacting with guests in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks for the medical team. Their duties include scheduling patient appointments according to provider availability, explaining intake forms to new patients and processing payments after treatment.
POSITION DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will be responsible for:<ul><li>
Provides initial customer service to all patients including but not limited to, greeting patients, scheduling and confirming patient appointments using a multi-line phone, performing data entry into the electronic medical record system for patient information, and creating patient files</li><li>
Quickly answering or properly referring questions</li><li>
Notifying providers of patient arrivals</li><li>
Provides conflict resolution and responds to patient grievances</li><li>
Creates and maintains confidential patient files and records, files accordingly</li><li>
Ensuring availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records</li><li>
Verifying financial records and collecting patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claims</li><li>
Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders</li><li>
Float to other facilities as needed and required</li><li>
Facilitates patient check-in and check-out. Explain payment options.</li><li>
Collects and posts patient payments; prepare deposits and follow established cash handling procedures</li><li>
Completes patient intakes, and conducts insurance verifications and authorizations</li><li>
All other duties as assigned</li></ul> 
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS &amp; EXPERIENCE<ul><li>
High school diploma or GED</li><li>
Minimum of six (6) months of experience working in a professional administrative or related capacity</li><li>
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with Physicians, other medical professionals, office personnel employees and patients</li><li>
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)</li><li>
Organization and time management skills</li></ul>
Physical Requirements of the role include: 
<ul><li>
Working irregular hours. Physically demanding, moderate-stress environment. Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions. Pushing and pulling heavy objects. Full range of body motion including handling and lifting clients Position requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry. Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.</li></ul>
Additional Skills &amp; Experiences Preferred include:<ul><li>
Bilingual English/Spanish Experience with Phlebotomy BLS Certification</li></ul>

 is responsible for providing patient support and communication and facilitating an exceptional patient experience to build and reinforce satisfaction, and trust and drive organizational loyalty. Accountable for welcoming and preparing the patient for their appointment, the Patient Reception Specialist informs patients of relevant and required information for their visit and provides clear communication around the services they are scheduled to receive.&nbsp;

 Experience to Drive Change:

 Adept in medical terminology and insurance practices&nbsp;
 </li>
 </ul>
 <ul>

 Proficient in the use of computer programs and applications including Google Suite applications and practice EMR systems&nbsp;

 Competent in basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately&nbsp;
 </li>
 </ul>

 Knowledgeable of CPT and ICD-10 coding&nbsp;

 Current BLS certification for healthcare providers preferred &nbsp;
