Legal Counsel

Position &ndash; Asst Manager &ndash; Payroll &amp; Compliance specialistWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HR Payroll and Compliance Specialist to manage and streamline end-to-end payroll processes and ensure statutory compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations across India. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of Indian payroll practices, statutory filings, and audit requirements, with a strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and process improvement.Payroll Processing &amp; Management:<ul><li>End-to-end payroll processing: Managing salary calculations, deductions, and benefits administration.</li><li>Statutory compliance: Ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages, PF, ESI, and other deductions according to Indian labor laws and regulations.</li><li>PF &amp; ESI management: Handling PF and ESI calculations, submissions, and resolving any related issues with the relevant authorities.</li><li>TDS management: Calculating and deducting TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) as per income tax regulations.</li><li>Payroll reporting: Generating and maintaining payroll reports, including tax reports, PF reports, and other relevant summaries.</li><li>Full &amp; Final settlements: Managing the final settlements for employees upon separation.</li><li>Data management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, including attendance, leaves, and personal information.</li><li>Liaison with vendors: Building and maintaining relationships with payroll service providers and vendors.</li><li>Reconciliation: Reconciling payroll accounts and ensuring accuracy in financial records.</li></ul>HR Compliance:&middot; Adherence to labor laws: Ensuring the organization complies with all applicable Indian labor laws, including those related to wages, working hours, and employee rights.&middot; Statutory compliance: Staying updated on changes in labor laws and regulations and ensuring timely filing of statutory returns (PF, ESI, PT, etc.).&middot; Policy implementation: Assisting in the development and implementation of HR policies that align with legal requirements and best practices.&middot; Grievance handling: Addressing employee grievances related to compliance, workplace policies, and ethics.&middot; Internal audits: Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.&middot; Data privacy: Ensuring the privacy and security of employee data in accordance with data protection laws.Collaboration &amp; Communication:&middot; Cross-functional collaboration: Working closely with HR and finance teams to exchange information and resolve payroll-related issues.&middot; Vendor management: Managing relationships with payroll service providers and resolving any related issues.&middot; Communication: Communicating effectively with employees regarding payroll matters and policy changes.Desired Skills &amp;amp; Experience&middot; 3&ndash;6 years of experience in compensation, benefits, and payroll handling&middot; Strong knowledge of Indian statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, TDS, Gratuity, Bonus, etc.)&middot; Hands-on experience with HRMS/payroll tools (Keka preferred) and Excel proficiency&middot; Exposure to designing compensation structures and handling variable pay&middot; Bachelor&rsquo;s/Master&rsquo;s degree in HR, Finance, or related field; certification in payroll/C&amp;B is a plus&middot; Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets&middot; Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information&middot; Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to model salary scenarios and projections&middot; Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working across departments&middot; Organized and deadline-oriented with the ability to multitask under pressure&middot; Self-starter with proactive approach to process improvementsJob Location &ndash; Kanpur, IndiaJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: &#8377;40,000.00 - &#8377;50,000.00 per monthBenefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Provident Fund</li></ul>Work Location: In person
