<h1 class="jobSectionHeader">What You'll Be Doing</h1>
Job Summary: Generally responsible for the design and modeling of site grading, stormwater management systems, pressure pipe networks, and other infrastructure utility layouts under the direct supervision of a Civil Engineer or Lead Designer Overall, you will be supporting teams of engineers and designers on a wide variety of projects including site development, infrastructure, and industrial design. This work will be performed at our office in Mobile, AL. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity offering full benefits, competitive pay, and upward mobility opportunities. Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:<ul><li>
Experience preparing civil engineering construction and permitting drawings on small to large projects.</li><li>
Demonstrated capability to design with supervisor oversight.</li><li>
Work with design teams on developing and coordinating project coordinate systems.</li><li>
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and effectively communicate concepts and ideas to others</li><li>
Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards</li><li>
Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies</li><li>
Perform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support</li><li>
Perform land development and zoning code research for civil-site development projects</li><li>
Review and check submittal drawings and documentation</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader">
Ideal Background</h1>
Education: Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.
Certification: Certification is not required at this level.
Experience: This position requires up to 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in civil-site or civil-utility engineering design in the industrial setting. Previous experience in commercial, government, or infrastructure setting may be considered for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<ul><li>
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining focus and re-prioritizing as necessary to meet multiple commitments</li><li>
Proficiency using AutoCAD Civil3D for preparing grading plans and developing surface models, pipe network, pressure pipe network, and earthwork quantities is a must</li><li>
Good communication skills, both verbal and written</li><li>
Ability to actively listen and ascertain the needs of Teammates and Clients</li><li>
Ability to work with a team to complete small and large projects</li><li>
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook</li><li>
Virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships are developed, and able to provide interoffice execution leadership and support</li><li>
MicroStation and ArcGIS experience a plus but not required.</li><li>
Knowledge of Revit and/or BIM a plus but not required.</li></ul>
Physical Requirements
<ul><li>Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.</li></ul>
