We offer a competitive salary, broad range of benefits, great hours, 3-day weekends, and year around work!Reliable and responsible adults interested in long-term employment and growth are encouraged to apply.Position Overview:<ul><li>Woodworkers in our Specialty Department run a variety of machines, including: trim saw, profile sander, coping and end-matching machines, bore and drilling machines, pocket-hole cutters, and more.</li></ul>If you like variety in your day, this may be the job for you!Education and Experience:Mechanical skills and the ability to accurately use/read various measuring devices is helpful for the Specialty Department, but all can be taught on the job when there is a desire and drive to learn.General Requirements<ul><li>Maintain good attendance and be punctual</li><li>Be organized and make good use of time</li><li>Keep the work area, machinery, and tools neat and clean and in proper order</li><li>Following standard operating and safety procedures and ensure that all OSHA regulations are followed (i.e., Follow Job Hazard Analysis and Lock Out/Tag Out guidelines to ensure safe operations)</li><li>The use of protective safety gear and equipment is always required</li><li>Attend all safety training and other company meetings as required</li><li>Seek continuous improvement throughout the department</li><li>Stay informed by reading company communications and postings on the Employee Bulletin Board</li><li>Cross-training when available and assisting in other work areas when needed.</li><li>Read and understand the company&rsquo;s Employee Handbook for company policy, procedures and goals</li><li>Keep complete, accurate, legible documentation</li><li>Be a self-starter, requiring minimal supervision to stay on task and complete assigned tasks</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality standards.</li><li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work collaboratively and respectfully with team members.</li><li>The Specialty Department owns the final steps of production. In this area it is very import to ensure quality standards and project specifications, and prepare our products for shipment to our customers.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Must be able to stand for long periods of time</li><li>Must be able to walk, squat, stoop, bend, reach, and turn</li><li>Must be able to negotiate all normal body movements associated with climbing a ladder</li><li>Must be able to lift/move/push up to 75 lbs safely and correctly</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum age requirement for machine operation: 18 years </li><li>High School Diploma/GED</li><li>Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English</li><li>Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test</li><li>Must be able to reliably commute to Foreston MN</li></ul>Desirable qualifications (though not necessarily required):<ul><li>Basic computer skills and experience with MS Excel</li><li>Ability to recognize wood species and grades of lumber</li><li>Familiarity with saws, tools, and related equipment</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Regular work hours for 1st Shift are: Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm, with occasional work required on Fridays.</li><li>Workplace noise is in the high range and requires to use of hearing protection</li><li>The workplace is a semi-climate-controlled environment &ndash; it will be warm in the summer and cold in the winter.</li><li>Workplace requires the use of foot protection (anti-crush toe shoes) and safety glasses</li><li>Workplace can generate wood dust; if allergic or sensitive, consider.</li></ul>Disclaimer:The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this classification.
