Job Description 
Harvard University Housing &amp; Real Estate (HUHRE) is a department within Harvard Campus Services, a multi-department organization within Harvard&rsquo;s Central Administration. HUHRE supports the University&rsquo;s educational and research efforts by offering Harvard affiliates a wide array of housing and real estate services in University-owned properties which are conveniently located, competitively priced, and professionally managed to residents and tenants alike. HUHRE serves as the asset manager for Harvard&rsquo;s portfolio of commercial spaces and centrally stewarded institutional assets, overseeing the leasing and operations of University-owned institutional space for Harvard affiliates and commercial spaces for rent by private retail tenants within the Cambridge, and Greater Boston area.
HUHRE manages a broad range of initiatives and assets to help support the Harvard community. These include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Leasing, managing, and renewing Harvard-owned housing as well as Harvard offices/institutional spaces, and commercial real estate portfolios</li><li>
Leading community engagement and programming opportunities</li><li>
Managing relationships with external partners and vendors</li><li>
Working within the larger University community to develop and coordinate University-wide policies and strategies</li><li>
Supporting new University housing and real estate development projects across the Cambridge and Greater Boston area</li></ul>

Job Summary
The Leasing Coordinator for Housing and leasing is responsible for marketing and leasing of Harvard University Housing rental apartments with a special focus on the assigned portfolio apartments. Individual portfolio assigned equitably in consideration of size and complexity. These efforts will enhance HUH&rsquo;s ability to meet the University&rsquo;s goal to support vibrant campus neighborhoods, strong financial stewardship, cutting-edge sustainability measures, and flexibility to meet future university needs. The Leasing Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Housing and Leasing Services for Harvard University Housing.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
Administrative Support<ul><li>
Manage the daily leasing function for this group of apartments, including the annual lease renewal and re-rental process.</li><li>
Manage the annual tenant recertification for the HUH Protected Program at the assigned properties; initiate communication, conduct one on one meetings to verify income.</li><li>
Manage Cambridge Housing Authority tenants.</li><li>
Liaison with the Boston Redevelopment Authority and the City of Cambridge Community Development Department.</li><li>
Track and monitor tenant arrearage accounts.</li><li>
Address problems and initiate legal action for non-payment of rent.</li><li>
Determine payment plans when necessary.</li><li>
Coordinate necessary legal action with the Office of General Counsel and outside attorneys.</li><li>
Liaison with management staff to address and problem-solve tenant issues, lease violations (pets, hoarding, noise, etc.), dispute matters, special projects as needed, i.e., new building opening, relocation of tenants, etc.</li><li>
Liaison with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable; Participate in the annual rent setting process.</li><li>
Participate in projects and train new employee/s or colleagues.</li><li>
Assist in reviewing and revising Harvard University Housing Policies &amp; Procedures.</li><li>
Show apartments and tour properties as needed.</li><li>
Participate in Harvard University School&rsquo;s admit days and open houses to promote Harvard University Housing.</li><li>
Participate in committee and subgroup cross collaboration meetings.</li></ul>
Systems Support<ul><li>
Process and manage tenant accounts in Yardi leasing database.</li><li>
Process leasing related documents: Yardi (Voyager, Caf&eacute;, SiteManager), DocuSign, etc.</li></ul>
Other Support<ul><li>
Completes special projects as assigned.</li><li>
Performs related duties as required.</li></ul> 
Qualifications 
Basic Qualifications:
<ul><li>A college degree strongly preferred, or an equivalent of education plus relevant experience.</li><li>
Minimum three to five years of real estate or related experience; knowledge of higher education housing a plus.</li></ul>
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
<ul><li>Must demonstrate strong communication (phone, written, in-person) and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused operations environment with multiple projects and priorities.</li><li>
Must be able to multi-task and perform duties with a high degree of speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.</li><li>
Must be proficient in writing business correspondence and have strong computer skills.</li><li>
Must have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with multiple staff members.</li><li>
Must be able to handle complex and confidential materials and information.</li><li>

Professor Goel&rsquo;s Computational Policy Lab at the Shorenstein Center at Harvard Kennedy School is seeking a Software Engineer with specialized expertise in software development, generative AI, and data science. This position is housed within the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy. Through teaching and research at the Kennedy School of Government and its program of visiting fellows, conferences and initiatives, the Center is at the forefront of its area of inquiry.

Projects you will work on include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>
AI in Education: We are designing and testing AI-powered technologies that go beyond generic tools like ChatGPT to provide tailored support for student learning. Our flagship tool, PingPong, is currently being evaluated through a large-scale randomized experiment across universities and community colleges nationwide. In addition, we are piloting innovations such as virtual lectures, personalized student diagnostics, and teacher co-pilot tools. This role will help design, implement, and scale these technologies so they can be rigorously tested and used in real classroom settings.</li><li>
AI in Public Policy: We are engineering AI systems that improve public service delivery and decision-making. Examples include tools that assist county prosecutors in making unbiased charging decisions, help public defender clients to avoid jail time due to missed court dates, and support adjudicators as they process unemployment insurance claims. In this role, you will work on building robust, production-quality systems that can be deployed in high-stakes government environments where reliability, fairness, and performance are critical.</li></ul> 
Qualifications

<ul><li>Bachelor's degree and/or relevant work experience in computer science, data science, or a closely related field, with a strong emphasis on advanced software engineering, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and empirical research methodologies.</li><li>
