<div>We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team in Fairfield, New Jersey. This hands-on role reports directly to the Controller and will focus primarily on accounts payable and day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing business environment. 


Key Responsibilities

Accounting/Bookkeeping
<ul><li>
Manage day-to-day accounting activities in QuickBooks Online.</li><li>
Ensure expenses are properly categorized and supported with appropriate documentation.</li><li>
Review, categorize, and enter all vendor invoices accurately in QuickBooks Online.</li><li>
Prepare and process electronic transfers and vendor payments.</li><li>
Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships.</li><li>
Apply customer payments in QuickBooks, Collections, and maintain AR Aging.</li><li>
Support month-end closing activities.</li><li>
Perform bank and account reconciliations, including prepaid expenses, other receivables, accrued expenses, credit cards, and intercompany accounts.</li><li>
Prepare and process 1099s and other required tax-related documentation.</li><li>
Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.</li><li>
Document and maintain accounting procedures.</li><li>
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in accounts payable and financial reporting processes.</li><li>
Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as needed.</li></ul> 


Qualifications
<ul><li>
5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.</li><li>
Experience as a full-charge bookkeeper is preferred.</li><li>
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online.</li><li>
Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of Google Sheets/Google Workspace.</li><li>
Significant experience with accounts payable functions required.</li><li>
Working knowledge of basic GAAP principles.</li><li>
Comfortable working directly with leadership and cross-functional teams.</li></ul>
