 Role Summary
 
 
 
 The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing work environments and developing programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent injuries or illnesses caused by chemical, physical, and ergonomic factors.
 
 
 
 Role Description
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Develop occupational health and safety systems, including policies, procedures, and manuals.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure the proper installation of equipment and machinery in the workplace, identify potential hazards, and implement preventive measures to minimize risks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Effectively manage the Health and Safety team to promote and develop occupational health and safety within the organization.
 </li>
 <li>
 Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure the smooth operation of the business.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure health and safety compliance requirements are met in line with current legislation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Recommend measures to protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
 </li>
 <li>
 Investigate accidents to identify root causes and determine preventive measures for the future.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain and emergency response plans and procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Audit local area OHS compliance related to risks, emergency preparedness, and hazardous waste management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify and assess work areas for potential accident and health hazards, such as toxic fumes and explosive gas-air mixtures, and implement appropriate control measures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure the organization is aware of, and complies with, all legislation relating to duty of care, workplace activities, and the use of plant, equipment, and substances.
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicate regularly with management regarding the status of occupational health and safety programs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Train team members to carry out Health and Safety audits and related duties, including offsite activities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop documentation for quality systems across all manufacturing areas.
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicate with external parties such as ministries and regulatory authorities as required.

 </ul>
 
 Candidate Requirements
 
 
 
 The ideal candidate for the HSE Officer role should possess the following skills, qualities, and experience:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bahraini Nationals with at least 3 years of HSE experience, or expatriates with 6 years or more of relevant experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Candidates who are well versed in Bahrain HSE laws and regulations, including reporting and liaison with government authorities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent qualification.
 </li>
 <li>
 NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Health &amp; Safety Management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Additional certifications related to Health &amp; Safety are an advantage.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong communication, interpersonal, training, and multitasking skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of applicable government regulations and computer proficiency.
 </li>
 <li>
 Positive attitude, passion, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Health & Safety Officer

 Job Purpose
 
 
 
 The Projects Manager will execute fast-track fit-out projects for retail stores, F&amp;B outlets, hotels, and commercial offices. Working independently, he/she will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and management of multiple projects by leading multi-disciplinary teams including subcontractors through project activities to meet client requirements and complete projects successfully, safely, within quality, within budget and on-time.
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities Areas
 
 
 
 The PM oversees the overall management of projects and client servicing on behalf of the Company, encompassing the following functions:
 
 
 
 1-Project Management
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Review tender programmes and convert them into construction programmes, including defining the client&rsquo;s direct procurement requirements and client meetings calendar
 </li>
 <li>
 Specify project objectives and plans including site set-up, planning and logistics. Delineation of scope, budgeting, scheduling, setting performance requirements, selection of project sub-contractors and allocating internal resources (e.g., QA/QC, Health and Safety and MEP Management)
 </li>
 <li>
 Set targets for procurement packages and vet sub-contractors&rsquo; tenders
 </li>
 <li>
 Decide on purchasing requirements (whether within or outside subcontractors&rsquo; remit)
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure projects teams have sufficient resources, equipment, and labour. Plan into order to meet the project timescales and quality requirements
 </li>
 <li>
 Attend all site meetings with client and/or consultants as Company representative
 </li>
 <li>
 Approve interim payments for subcontractors and their final accounts
 </li>
 <li>
 Approve the Company&rsquo;s interim valuations before submission to our client/consultant
 </li>
 <li>
 Liaise and cooperate with in-house departments such as joinery manufacturing in Bahrain
 </li>
 <li>
 Maximise resource efficiency (e.g., labour, materials, and equipment)
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 2-Performance Management
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Oversee the construction sites and associated site teams, and the management of vendors and trade subcontractors
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain accurate records of construction progress across all projects and report to senior management on a weekly basis
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure good communication between the Company and clients at all times
 </li>
 <li>
 Be responsible for health and safety on all sites under his management
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure workers follow Company procedures
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage the rectification process on-time and on-budget
 </li>
 <li>
 Compile and submit Operations and Maintenance (O&amp;M) manuals to the clients upon project completion
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage close out procedure for all projects in accordance with contractual obligations and to high quality standards thereby compelling clients to give a positive review or testimonial
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Candidate Requirements
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 The Projects Manager (PM) should have worked with reputable fit-out contracting companies in the Middle East for at least 7-8 years
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of 10 years&rsquo; total work experience in the same field
 </li>
 <li>
 Very strong technical, execution and commercial abilities with sound knowledge of the woodworking business particularly the technical aspects relating to joinery and good manufacturing practices of timber, veneers, hardware, etc
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven track record as a successful leader at senior management level within the fit-out industry
 </li>
 <li>
 A very good knowledge of latest developments in the fit-out market. The candidate should be well-versed with the current trends and news influencing market and be able to suggest ideas to boost the Company&rsquo;s industry presence and build our brand
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a multinational market environment
 </li>

 Complete management of the project at site from taking possession of the unit from client to site handover

 Specifying project objectives and plans including delineation of scope, scheduling, setting performance requirements etc

 Implementing various operations through proper coordination and control of planning, design, estimating, contracting and construction in the entire process
 </li>

 Maintaining accurate records as construction progress throughout the projects
 </li>

 Responsible for overview of the construction sites, and management of vendors and trades. In addition, keep good communication between the Clients at all times
 </li>
 <li>
 Project Management Planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management, Contract Administration, Safety Management, which includes specific activities like defining the responsibilities and management structure of the project management team, organizing, and leading by implementing project controls, defining roles and responsibilities, and developing communication protocols, and identifying elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims

 Candidate Requirements
 
 
 
 The essential skills required for this purpose are as follows:

 The candidate should have a minimum of eight to ten years similar experience
 </li>

 Very strong technical and execution abilities
 </li>

 Previous experience of working with professional fit out contracting companies with their in-house workforce
 </li>

 Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a multinational environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Computer literate (AutoCAD, MS Projects, MS Office)

 Local driving license
