JOB DUTIES: This position is regional and is located in the In-Service Education department of the Hawai&rsquo;i Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) Kaua&rsquo;i Region, a public benefit corporation of the State of Hawai&rsquo;i. The HHSC Kaua&rsquo;i Region encompasses Kaua&rsquo;i Veterans Memorial Hospital (KVMH) and Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital (SMMH), both designated as critical care access hospitals (CAH), as well as the Kaua&rsquo;i Region Clinics and its affiliated entities.
The In-Service Education department plays a vital role in enhancing the professional development and competency of healthcare staff through structured training programs and educational initiatives. This department is responsible for assessing the educational needs of employees, designing and implementing relevant training sessions, and providing ongoing support to ensure that staff members are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills necessary for high-quality patient care. The department also facilitates orientation for new hires, promotes continuing education opportunities, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements. By fostering a culture of lifelong learning, the In-Service Education department contributes to improved clinical outcomes, patient safety, and overall organizational effectiveness.
The Training &amp; Development Coordinator III (Regional Provider EHR Education Specialist) independently performs training and staff development programs for healthcare personnel; coordinates education programs; conducts surveys; and executes other related duties as required. This role supports provider onboarding, EHR setup, workflow configuration, and training across the region. It ensures that physicians, advanced practice providers (APP), and other privileged practitioners are fully prepared to use the EHR safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, provider profile setup, security role configuration, workflow optimization, and individualized training. This position primarily operates at KVMH but requires travel between various facilities within the region as needed and may necessitate extended hours, including weekends and holidays, to fulfill operational requirements.
This position reports to the Registered Professional Nurse (RPN) V (Regional In-Service Education Nurse Manager), position number 20862, or their designee.

EDUCATION: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Education, or a related field. Relevant substitutions may be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
One and one-half (1&frac12;) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in organizing training, education, instructional design, and/or project management. Such experience demonstrates the ability to conduct training, coordinate training activities, develop training materials, and/or plan and execute projects.Previous experience in IT, healthcare IT, EHR build, or provider training roles; previous experience in staff education or clinical orientation is preferred.Healthcare Experience: None required.Supervisory Experience: None required.Licensure: A current State of Hawai&rsquo;i type #3 motor vehicle operator&rsquo;s license is preferred.

SHORTAGE DIFFERENTIAL: Based on experience
JOB DUTIES: This position is located in the Occupational Therapy sub-unit, Rehabilitation Services Unit, Ancillary Services section of Kona Community Hospital, a 94 bed acute care facility located on the island of Hawaii, serving as the West Hawaii Regional Center, which also includes Kohala Hospital. It is one of 9 facilities within the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
The Occupational Therapy (OT) program provides services to the acute-care and long-term care patients, treating patients individually or in groups with psychosocial and physical dysfunction. Implements and carries out medically prescribed activities which will assist in restoring physical function up to maximum level of competence, and psychosocial and constructive activities which will help the patient to adapt to the social demands of living.
This staff therapist position performs diagnostic assessments and prepares and implements treatment plans in providing professional occupational therapy services for the full range of cases within the scope of a program for the habilitation and rehabilitation of patients. This position may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

EDUCATION:
Degree in occupational therapy from a school of occupational therapy approved at the time of graduation by the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. in collaboration with the American Medical Association; or in the case of a foreign-trained person, the credentials indicating completion of an occupational therapy education program shall be evaluated and approved by the Certification Committee of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. Must have successfully completed the field work requirements prescribed by the degree awarding school.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIRED:
1. Applicants must have passed the Occupational Therapist national certification examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT); and
2. Licensed with the State of Hawaii as an Occupational Therapist (OT) at the time of appointment.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers at time of appointment
4. For certain positions, applicants may be required to possess a valid State of Hawaii driver&rsquo;s license, Type 3.
