Senior Landscape Architect Gloucestershire Working Hours: Monday Friday, 9:00 am 5:00 pm (with flexibility)Salary: Competitive depending on experienceWe are seeking a talented Senior Landscape Architect to join our Gloucester-based practice. This is an office-based position offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of landscape and master planning projects within a supportive and creative team environment.Responsibilities of the Senior Landscape Architect:<ul> <li>Lead and manage the preparation of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA), including site surveys, methodology development, visual analysis, and report writing.</li><li>Contribute to masterplanning, concept, and detailed design projects across a variety of sectors (residential, commercial, infrastructure, and public realm).</li><li>Collaborate with project teams, clients, and consultants to develop design solutions that meet project requirements, planning regulations, and client expectations.</li><li>Attend project meetings, planning consultations, and client presentations, representing the practice professionally.</li><li>Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.</li><li>Prepare technical drawings, plans, and visualisations using AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, and other relevant software.</li><li>Contribute to the preparation of planning applications, design statements, and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with UK planning policy and guidance.</li><li>Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, assess environmental context, and verify design implementation.</li><li>Stay up-to-date with industry trends, planning policy, and sustainable landscape design practices, integrating innovations into practice where appropriate.</li><li>Support business development activities, such as proposals, client engagement, and opportunities to expand the practice s portfolio.</li></ul> Professional Requirements<ul> <li>Ideally a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) with a minimum of 5 years professional experience.</li><li>Strong technical competence in all aspects of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) including methodology, report preparation, and visual representation.</li><li>Proven ability to lead and oversee teams working on LVIAs and related projects.</li><li>Good understanding of the UK planning system.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, well-structured reports.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain quality under pressure.</li><li>Experience participating in planning appeals or inquiries (written reps, hearings, or full inquiries) is advantageous but not essential.</li><li>Understanding of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and their integration into landscape design preferred.</li><li>Comfortable working across a variety of project types</li></ul> Software Skills<ul> <li>Proficient in Adobe InDesign and AutoCAD.</li><li>Experience with KeySCAPE is beneficial (training can be provided).</li><li>A full, clean UK driving licence.</li></ul> Benefits<ul> <li>Competitive salary (commensurate with experience)</li><li>33 days holiday including bank holidays (pro rata)</li><li>Contributory pension scheme</li><li>Free on-site parking</li></ul> If you would like to apply then please email your CV to (url removed) or call Jade on (phone number removed)Closing date is 17.11.2025 Please note this could change subject to suitable applicationsHawk 3 Talent Solutions are acting as an employment agency on behalf of its client.By applying for the above position and providing your personal data to us you understand that your data will be processed in line with our Privacy Policy.
