 Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
 
 
 
 
 
 
 As a Senior / Lead DevOps Engineer, you will:
 
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for deploying software and infrastructure through to production, collaborating closely with developers, testers, user-centred designers, delivery managers, data scientists, and clients.
 </li>
 <li>
 Apply zero-downtime deployment strategies to ensure reliability and resilience across projects and teams.
 </li>
 <li>
 Use Infrastructure as Code to build, manage, and evolve cloud environments at scale.
 </li>
 <li>
 Engage directly with clients, understanding their needs and translating them into robust, secure, and scalable DevOps solutions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive adoption of DevOps best practices, mentoring colleagues, guiding client teams, and influencing delivery outcomes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Improve security posture with automated monitoring, vulnerability detection, and patching, working alongside relevant stakeholders.
 </li>
 <li>
 Stay ahead of the curve by bringing new ideas, tools, and techniques into our work, supporting teams and clients in applying them effectively.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 In order to be successful in the role, candidates ideally need
 
 
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 AWS DevOps engineering at scale, with deep knowledge of automation, distributed systems, and container orchestration
 </li>
 <li>
 Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and cloud-native CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CodeBuild, CodePipeline).
 </li>
 <li>
 Designing and operating secure, scalable, and high-performance systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Leading and mentoring engineers, embedding DevOps culture and practice.
 </li>
 <li>
 Agile delivery environments (Scrum, GDS, Agile phases, etc.).
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to build strong client relationships, explain complex technical concepts, and guide client teams in adopting DevOps practices.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience working in a professional services or consultancy environment, with proven client-facing responsibility
 </li>
 <li>
 Awareness and/or experience of GOV.UK Service Standards and Technology Code of Practice.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience delivering as part of multiple projects concurrently across client and internal teams
 </li>

 In order to be successful in the role, candidates ideally need

 Hands-on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with RAG, prompt engineering, AI evaluation, embeddings, and vector search
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of AI infrastructure, vector databases, and AI agent frameworks
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong development skills in Python, TypeScript, Node.js, React and/or .NET
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, Git, CI/CD, and cloud platforms
 </li>
 <li>
 Understanding of secure and responsible AI principles
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience mentoring or leading engineers
 </li>
 <li>
