 Healogics is the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating more than 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across over 600 sites. With an aging society, obesity and diabetes on the rise, and an uptick in surgical procedures, the number of patients with non-healing wounds that would benefit from expert care is dramatically increasing.  Reporting to the Program Director, the Hyperbaric Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider. This position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, as well as for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient.

 Essential Functions/Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Prepares, educates and orients patients about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This includes lifting or transferring patients per local policy, getting them ready for treatment administration and answering their questions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Administers the hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider to the patient. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s)&rsquo;responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient&rsquo;s safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Makes appropriate data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits and keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation, to include photo uploading.
 </li>
 <li>
 Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support oxygen systems as required
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist in vein clinic as assigned after Healogics Vein Clinic training completed
 </li>
 <li>
 Participates in the safety program activities such as assisting with safety drills
 </li>
 <li>
 If CMA or LPN, may function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs other duties as required.

 Required Education, Experience And Credentials

 High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)
 </li>
 <li>
 Current healthcare professional certification or license as applicable in state of practice -to maintain throughout the duration of employment in this role. This applies to:

 Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
 </li>
 <li>
 Military: Corpsman or Medical Services Specialist
 </li>
 <li>
 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic
 </li>

 Registered Nurse (RN) , Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
 </li>
 <li>
 Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS)
 </li>
 <li>
 Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN)
 </li>
 <li>
 Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
 </li>
 <li>
 Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT)
 </li>
 <li>
 Certified or Licensed Nursing Assistant (CNA or LNA)
 </li>
 <li>
 Certified Hyperbaric Wound Specialist (CHWS)
 </li>
 <li>
 Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant (PT or PTA)
 </li>
 <li>
 Or completion of Hyperbaric Training from US Department of Defense (DOD):
 </li>

 e.g. US Navy, Army or Coast Guard Diver (1st Class, 2nd Class or Master designation)

 or US Air Force Aerospace Physiology Specialist
 </li>
 </ul>
 </ul>
 <li>
 Exception: For Ohio, current Ohio license either as Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Respiratory Therapist or Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) as approved by National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT)

 <li>
 Pre or post hire completion of Introductory Hyperbaric Training Course, as approved by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology, Department of Defense, American College of Hyperbaric Medicine or Undersea &amp; Hyperbaric Medical Society.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of Two (2) or more years&rsquo; experience in healthcare preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 Prior experience in wound or critical care preferred

 Under the direction of the Wound Care Center Clinical Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator, the Registered Nurse (RN) primarily provides patient care and handles intake and discharge processes for the Wound Care Center patients as scheduled. The position may also serve as a Case Manager to a group of assigned Wound Care Center patients, as assigned and depending on the Wound Care Center setup.

 Provides patient care to Wound Care Center patients and handles patient intake and discharge processes as assigned and according to the hospital and nursing standards
 </li>

 Assist in vein clinic as assigned after Healogics Vein Clinic training completed
 </li>
 <li>
 May also serve as Case Manager to a group of patients as assigned. This entails:
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Performing the initial nursing assessment, communicating findings with the assigned physician, assessing the wound stage and measurements, documenting care plans, evaluating the patient&rsquo; status in regards to desired outcomes, and identifying patient care situations that require intervention
 </li>
 <li>
 Participating in quality improvement initiatives, providing education to the patient or caregiver, and serving as a patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of the patient care
 </li>
 </ul>
 <li>
 Performs hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) related duties as assigned, upon completion of the Healogics hyperbaric training
 </li>
 <li>
 May perform hyperbaric safety director duties after completing the required Healogics hyperbaric safety director training
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborates as needed with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director and the Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs
 </li>
 <li>
 May function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs other duties as required.

 Required Education, Experience And Credentials

 Degree in Nursing (ADN)
 </li>
 <li>
 Current RN license in the state of practice &ndash; to be maintained throughout the duration of employment in the position
 </li>
 <li>
 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 Medical Surgical, Home Health or Wound Care Certification preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 Wound care experience preferred
