POSITION SUMMARY
To be fully engaged in modeling the Health First I-CARE Values and providing safe and efficient transportation of patients and equipment within the hospitals. The Clinical Transporter is also responsible for providing superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service through transports of patients in a timely and safe manner, working as a team member to achieve goals and objectives of the department. 
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES<ul><li>
Personally, facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients from area to area via stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs and expedited movement of patient related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment.</li><li>
Assists in the safe transfers of customers (such as: from bed to stretcher or wheelchair). Provides courteous, professional service by always introducing self to patient and explaining mode of transport, wheelchair vs stretcher.</li><li>
Accurately records the transport and reports the necessary information by correctly using the Teletracking.</li><li>
Appropriately utilizes PPE, and follows HIPPA, OSHA, and Health First&rsquo;s Policies and Procedures.</li><li>
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.</li><li>
Safely operates both stretcher and wheelchair. Reports any issues to Manager. Removes broken or defective equipment immediately.</li><li>
Applies Tele Pak Monitor on patient when required, follows process for ensuring patient rhythm is visible and verifies with monitor tech.</li><li>
Consistently practices appropriate hand washing before and after each patient encounter.</li><li>
Receives and confirms proper discharge paperwork and handoff communication with RN prior to leaving origin and ensures at destination proper handoff is completed per policy.</li><li>
Cleans stretcher and wheelchair after each patient transport with hospital approved germicidal product.</li><li>
Per Diem associates float to different hospital facilities per guidelines.</li><li>
Follows proper Morgue processes to ensure a safe transfer of patient.</li></ul> 

Work Experience 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>
Work Experience: Customer Service, preferred.</li><li>
Licensure/Certification: Must hold current American Heart Association BLS healthcare provider completion card and maintain annually with no interruption.</li><li>
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</li></ul><ul><li>
Excellent Customer Service skills and communication</li><li>
Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.</li><li>
Ability to work effectively in a stressful, fast paced environment.</li><li>
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities with calm and effective response.</li></ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>
Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per shift, up to 12 hours during disaster response.</li><li>
Must be able lift up to forty (40) pounds unassisted.</li><li>
Must be able to transport patients using stretcher, wheelchair, and other conveyances.</li><li>
Must be capable of pushing or pulling weight up to 250 pounds for 75% of a 10 hour shift.</li></ul>
COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT/SKILLS CHECKLIST:<ul><li>
Associates must complete within three months of hire and annually.</li></ul>

POSITION SUMMARY
To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by assisting licensed personnel in providing direct nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. 
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES<ul><li>
Collects, records, and reports accurate patient information.</li><li>
Provides care to patients in a clean and safe environment.</li><li>
Competently performs routine procedures, delivering basic care to patients as directed by RN.</li><li>
Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their expectations, age, cultural and individual needs.</li><li>
Demonstrates dependability, reliability, and flexibility in assisting other associates and maintaining productivity.</li><li>
Responds to call lights and completes other assigned tasks in a timely manner.</li><li>
Consistently and effectively demonstrates compliance with department service standards such as purposeful rounding, bedside shift report, and white board management to enhance customer communication.</li><li>
Demonstrates effective communication with all members of the health care team to promote effective team functioning; actively seeks feedback and coaching to improve customer experience.</li><li>
Contributes to the customer experience goals as evidenced by positive patient experience scores/comments and/or other written compliments.</li><li>
May have access to rooms that contain IV solutions, authorized medications and supplies as needed for patient care responsibilities.</li><li>
Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals (i.e. use of 2 patient identifiers) when accessing patient information and in performing job duties.</li><li>
Demonstrates personal accountability in economically using and caring for equipment and supplies.</li></ul> 

Work Experience 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Education:</li></ul><ul><li>
Current enrollment in an RN or LPN program with successful completion of hands on clinical coursework.</li><li>
May remain in Nurse Tech role up to one (1) year after graduation from LPN/RN professional nursing program, until LPN/RN license obtained, or NCLEX is failed twice, whichever occurs first.</li></ul><ul><li>
Certification: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider and maintain.</li><li>
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</li></ul><ul><li>
Must meet unit-specific care requirements.</li><li>
Ability to speak and understand verbal and written instructions in the English language.</li><li>
Ability to focus and prioritize multiple activities.</li></ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS &ndash; Moderate<ul><li>
Physically agile; may require walking, standing running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing or crouching frequently.</li><li>
Medium work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, with or without assistance.</li><li>
May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or overhead.</li><li>
May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.</li><li>
May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to loud noise.</li><li>
May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC Guidelines.</li><li>
Communicating with others to exchange information.</li><li>
Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.</li><li>
Workspace may vary from open to confined.</li><li>
May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.</li></ul>
