JOB PURPOSE
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining accounting records, bank reconciliations, determining priority of entries, and checking and entering routine information such as accounts payable and receivable information.
<div><div>ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
<ul><li>Assists with bank reconciliations
</li><li>Enters Accounts Receivable and Payable
</li><li>Creates and enters journal entries as needed
</li></ul><ul><li>Assembles any designated reports
</li><li>Applies basic accounting principles in accordance with FASB and NAIC guidelines
</li><li>Assists with gathering documentation, support, and other information for annual financial audit and other audits as required
</li><li>Processes premium payments and other deposits and takes cash to bank as needed
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintains regular and predictable attendance
</li><li>Consistently demonstrates compliance with HIPAA regulations, professional conduct, and ethical practice
</li><li>Works to encourage and promote Company culture throughout the organization
</li><li>Other duties as may be assigned
</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS
<ul><li>One to three years of hands-on accounting or finance experience (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries)
</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word (pivot tables, lookups, formatting, reporting)
</li><li>Strong ability to learn new systems and processes quickly, with a self-motivated and detail-oriented mindset
</li><li>Experience in a business or finance setting preferred, but not required
</li></ul>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Moderate to significant amount of stress in meeting deadlines and dealing with day-to-day responsibilities. Must be able to drive a vehicle and daytime/overnight travel as required.
