</ul></li></ul><div><b>Job Responsibilities</b></div>
<ul><li>Follows all HealthTexas Medical Group policies and procedures to include but not limited to human resources, clinic, administrative, HIPAA and compliance.</li>
<li>Greets patients and visitors. Checks in patients. Verifies and updates necessary information in the medical record and patient registration. Enters patient demographics and insurance information into the computer. Assists patients with physical difficulties. Notifies the medical assistant when a patient is ready.</li>
<li>Maintains appointment schedules. Confirms appointments and obtains referral information.</li>
<li>Verifies insurance coverage.</li>
<li>Answers telephone, screens calls and visitors, takes messages, and provides routine information.</li>
<li>Displays courtesy, professionalism, compassion and positive helpful attitude in interactions with providers, staff, patients and visitors.</li>
<li>Maintain appropriate levels of cash and balance cash drawer per company procedure.</li>
<li>Processes payments received in person and by mail. Records, totals and prepares monies for deposit according to company procedure.</li>
<li>Refers patients to billing/or supervisor for clarification or discussion of account and/or payment terms.</li>
<li>Operation and maintenance of credit and collection equipment</li>
<li>Maintains appropriate supply inventory.</li>
<li>Maintains patient charts, updates and other information according to policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Prepares new charts. Ensures new patient paperwork is filled out, received and scanned into EMR. Annually updates establish patient paperwork and scans into EMR.</li>
<li>Types work excuses as directed. Sorts and delivers mail, medical records, and other correspondence.</li>
<li>Maintains work area and lobby in neat and orderly manner.</li>
<li>Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.</li>
<li>Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA regulations.</li>
<li>Uses oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas in a clear, positive manner.</li>
<li>Maintains established medical group policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.</li>
<li>Implements job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the Code of Ethics.</li>
<li>Maintains regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the medical group's sole discretion.</li>
<li>Follow personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines</li>
<li>Fulfills medical records requests as applicable</li>
<li>Assists patients with referral/authorization requests by printing referrals, providing referral contact and location information, obtain commercial authorizations and checking on status of authorizations.</li>
<li>Assists patients in accessing Healow, Patient Portal, completing Formstack paperwork and mobile check-in.</li>
<li>Assigned as Clinic Champion, rotating through Medical Records, Referrals, Healow, Formstack, Mobile Check-in and Resource Schedule</li>
<li>Performs other tasks and related work as required.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Managed Care plans and benefits</li>
</ul><div><b>Experience</b></div>
<ul><li>One year of physician office experience, including ICD-9, CPT and HCPCS coding.</li>
<li>Knowledge of managed care preferred.</li>
</ul><div><b>Education</b></div>
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
</ul><div><b>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities</b></div>
<ul><li>Ability to operate 10-key calculator by touch, telephone, computer, copier, and fax machine.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills and good math knowledge essential.</li>
<li>Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment and under stressful conditions where constructive criticism from others is encouraged.</li>
<li>Demonstrate knowledge of basic medical terminology.</li>
<li>Able to effectively communicate with all others respectfully regardless of sexual, racial, ethnic or economic status.</li>
</ul><div><b>Work Hours, Travel Requirements</b></div>
<ul><li>Clinic hours vary at each location; Associates rotate 8-hour shifts as assigned to meet its business needs and/or the needs of its patients.</li>
<li>Requires travel to other sites as requested for training, to meet its business needs, and/or the needs of its patients.</li>
</ul><div><b>Working Conditions/Physical Requirements</b></div>
<div>Medical office/clinic environment; exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.</div>
<div><ul><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to meet the attendance requirements of the position and adhere to the HealthTexas Medical Group attendance policy.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to assist the patients in the event of an emergency.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing (no less than 2 hours at a time), stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs.</li></ul>
<ul><li>May assist in lifting patients</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must attend 5 week PCR Academy - location may vary.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to work rotating schedule (open/close shifts).</li></ul>
