ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following, other duties may be assigned:Recruitment &amp; Onboarding<ul><li>Assist with posting job openings across various platforms and conducting resume screenings.</li><li>Coordinate interviews, communicate with applicants, and support the hiring workflow.</li><li>Prepare new-hire paperwork, assist with new employee orientation, and maintain onboarding materials.</li></ul>HR Administration<ul><li>Maintain digital and physical employee files in compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.</li><li>Assist with HR communications, such as announcements, reminders, or updates to staff.</li><li>Support routine HR tasks such as employment verifications, data entry, and processing employee changes.</li></ul>Employee Support<ul><li>Serve as a helpful point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions.</li><li>Provide guidance on basic policies, procedures, and resource access.</li><li>Assist in employee engagement initiatives such as recognition programs or staff events.</li><li>Benefits &amp; Leave Support</li><li>Help employees navigate benefits enrollment and direct them to appropriate resources.</li><li>Assist HR team members with documenting and tracking FMLA, ADA, and other leave requests.</li></ul>HRIS &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Enter and update employee data in the HRIS system accurately and promptly.</li><li>Generate simple HR reports or summaries as needed.</li><li>Compliance &amp; Training Support</li><li>Help track and schedule compliance training, performance evaluations, and policy acknowledgments.</li><li>Ensure HR practices follow federal, state, and local regulations through accurate recordkeeping and documentation.</li></ul>Other/General Responsibilities<ul><li>Promotes the general goals and objectives of Heart of Texas Goodwill</li><li>Maintains positive, team atmosphere and relations with peers and other departments</li><li>Suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency of departments</li><li>Attends scheduled trainings</li><li>Represents the company in the community in a positive, professional fashion</li><li>Maintains strictest confidentiality in all aspects of the work.</li><li>Assists in other departments, as needed.</li><li>Provide relief to other staff members as assigned.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>QualificationsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A credit check may be performed as well as a driver license check and motor vehicle report.</li><li>Must be willing to accept instructions and carry them out with minimal supervision.</li><li>Must be able to work and cooperate with others.</li><li>Must be able to identify potential hazards and implement control measures to reduce risk and maintain a safe work environment.</li><li>Must be able to identify potential problem areas and implement procedures to reduce the impact of problem potentially affecting the Human Resources department and Goodwill.</li></ul>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.</li><li>Three (3) to five (5) or more years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions, with demonstrated knowledge across multiple HR functions (e.g., employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, compliance</li><li>General knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA) and HR best practices.</li><li>Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems, preferably in Paycom and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.</li><li>Bilingual abilities (e.g., English/Spanish) a plus</li></ul>At a minimum an employee must possess the following skills:<ul><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Attention to detail and organizational abilities.</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.</li><li>Basic knowledge of HR concepts and employment laws (training provided).</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning HRIS systems.</li></ul>Core Competencies<ul><li>Customer Service Orientation</li><li>Communication &amp; Interpersonal Skills</li><li>Professionalism &amp; Integrity</li><li>Accuracy &amp; Attention to Detail</li><li>Teamwork &amp; Collaboration</li><li>Problem-Solving</li><li>Time Management</li></ul>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
