Organization: Heartfulness Institute (Kanha Shanti Vanam)Department: Transport &amp; MaintenanceLocation: Kanha Shanti Vanam, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana (hfn.link/kanha)Reporting To: Transport Manager / Workshop Supervisor# Role ObjectiveTo ensure the seamless operation, safety, and longevity of the organization&rsquo;s diesel-powered fleet, including heavy vehicles, passenger buses, and agricultural machinery, supporting the logistical needs of the Kanha Shanti Vanam campus.# Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled servicing, oil changes, and filter replacements for all diesel engines to minimize downtime.</li><li>Diagnostics &amp; Troubleshooting: Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using manual inspection and modern diagnostic tools.</li><li>Engine Overhauling: Perform complex repairs on diesel fuel injection systems, turbochargers, transmissions, and cooling systems.</li><li>Braking &amp; Suspension: Maintain and repair air-brake systems, steering linkages, and suspension components to ensure passenger safety.</li><li>Inventory Management: Track spare parts usage, initiate purchase requests, and ensure the workshop is stocked with high-quality lubricants and components.</li><li>Emergency Repairs: Provide rapid response for vehicle breakdowns within or near the campus to ensure transport schedules are not disrupted.</li><li>Record Keeping: Maintain detailed digital or physical logs of every vehicle&rsquo;s service history and fuel efficiency.</li></ul># Technical Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Education: ITI or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering (Diesel Mechanic trade preferred).</li><li>Experience: 3&ndash;7 years of hands-on experience in repairing Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) or commercial diesel fleets.</li><li>Technical Knowledge: * Deep understanding of BS-IV and BS-VI engine standards.</li><li>Proficiency in handling pneumatic and power tools.</li><li>Knowledge of hydraulic systems (common in tractors and earthmovers).</li><li>License: Possession of a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license is a significant advantage.</li></ul># Core Competencies &amp; Soft Skills<ul><li>Discipline: Ability to follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workshop.</li><li>Sustainability Mindset: Aligning with Kanha&rsquo;s values by ensuring minimal oil wastage and proper disposal of hazardous materials.</li><li>Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with drivers and other technical staff.</li><li>Physical Fitness: Capability to handle the physical demands of heavy mechanical work in a workshop environment.</li></ul># Working at Kanha Shanti Vanam<ul><li>Environment: A serene, pollution-free campus focused on spiritual and personal growth.</li><li>Culture: Values-based work culture emphasizing &quot;Service&quot; and mutual respect.</li></ul>Job Types: Permanent, Contractual / TemporaryBenefits:<ul><li>Food provided</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Leave encashment</li><li>Paid sick time</li><li>Provident Fund</li></ul>Ability to commute/relocate:<ul><li>Ranga Reddy District, Telangana: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Diploma (Preferred)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Diesel Mechanic: 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
