Heartland Human Care Services is seeking a <b>Financial Analyst</b> to provide critical accounting support for a portfolio of grants and contracts. In this role, you&rsquo;ll handle month-end close procedures, support budgeting and financial planning, analyze statements and reports, and prepare projections that guide decision-making.</p><p>

Essential Functions:</b></div><div><b>
Duties &amp; Responsibilities</b></div><ul><li>
Maintains financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.</li><li>
Prepares journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.</li><li>
Contributes to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.</li><li>
Maintains documentation as needed.</li><li>
Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliations.</li><li>
Responds to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.</li><li>
Grants management for a portfolio of awards. Includes budget preparation, cost projections, report preparation, and spending analysis.</li><li>
Meets processing and reporting deadlines for all assigned grants and contracts.</li><li>
Ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies, and relevant financial and legal regulations.</li><li>
Other duties may be assigned.</li></ul></div><div><div><b>
Education and Experience:</b></div><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree from an accredited institute of higher learning in Accounting or Finance.</li><li>
Minimum two (2) years of experience in accounting or finance. Non-profit accounting experience is preferred.</li></ul><div><b>
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (K/S/A):</b></div><ul><li>
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).</li><li>
Working knowledge of OMB Circulars and Uniform Guidance.</li><li>
Highly proficient experience with Microsoft Excel.</li><li>
Excellent communication skills. Strong networker, convener, relationship builder and communicator with experience collaborating with diverse work teams and stakeholders.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information possessing skills to handle situations in a professional and diplomatic manner.</li><li>
A high degree of collaboration and emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and analytical ability.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by Heartland Human Care Services.</li><li>
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.</li><li>

Each program site operates on a 24/7 basis, 365 days per year. To meet both the needs of our participants and contractual obligations, employees are required to be flexible in regard to scheduling and work location.</li><li>

Heartland Human Care Services is seeking an <b>Associate Director of Policy and Training</b> to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of policies and training that ensure our SAFEty programs meet the highest standards. Reporting to the Managing Director of Compliance, Policy, and Training, you&rsquo;ll play a key role in aligning programs with organizational, licensing, funder, and accreditation requirements.</p><p>
In this role, you&rsquo;ll oversee the training framework, from updating existing curricula to creating new content and delivering it through hybrid learning models. You&rsquo;ll also lead a team of trainers who provide compliance-focused instruction as well as child welfare best practices, ensuring staff have the tools and professional development they need to thrive.</p><p>

Staff Training and Development:</b></div><ul><li>
Develops, organizes, and participates in New Employee Orientation (NEO) for SAFEty Initiatives&rsquo; employees.</li><li>
Trains, coaches, and monitors SAFEty staff in quality management and program compliance processes.</li><li>
Provides consistent, quality supervision to the Training Specialists at SAFEty ensuring the development, implementation and evaluation of the SAFEty Training Strategy and the professional development of the team and the individuals on the team.</li><li>
Trains and oversees the training of SAFEty staff in various subjects as required by program administration, funders, licensing and accrediting agencies.</li></ul></div><div><div><b>
Policy Management:</b></div><ul><li>
Provides leadership in the development of department and program policies and procedures.</li><li>
Maintains and updates SAFEty Initiatives Policy Manuals.</li><li>
Conducts and analyzes policy implementation with the programs and develops/updates annual policy updates in accordance with funder guidelines.</li></ul><div><b>
Quality Assurance:</b></div><ul><li>
Assists program managers and directors in the area of staff development and monitors implementation of quality improvement plans.</li><li>
Creates a positive and professional work environment for staff.</li><li>
Participates in various quality management committees within Heartland Human Care Services.</li><li>
Works with directors in interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems to ensure consistency of policy and practice.</li><li>
Provides research and written analysis of issues as assigned. Develops quantitative and qualitative research projects to further enhance the knowledge of the population(s) served by SAFEty Initiatives.</li><li>

Provides updates to the supervising executive regarding service issues, strategic planning, new opportunities, management issues and to communicate program successes.</li><li>
Collaborates with other functional areas within the organization to maintain service integration, provide technical assistance, and assure quality.</li></ul></div><div><div><b>

Bachelor's degree in training and development or a social services field is required. Master&rsquo;s Degree preferred.</li><li>

Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience</li><li>
