About the Role</b></h2><p>
As a Contract Content Writer at Helium, you'll be responsible for creating compelling, optimized content for client websites across a wide range of industries. You'll work directly from creative briefs and style guides, writing content that serves both search engines and real audiences. This role is built for someone who can hit the ground running, not someone who needs constant oversight once they're up to speed.</p><p>
This position requires <b>20&ndash;25 hours of availability per week, every week.</b> We're looking for one reliable contractor with consistent bandwidth, rather than multiple contractors with unpredictable schedules.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
What You'll Do</b></h2><ul><li>
Write new long-form (800&ndash;1,000 words) and short-form (250&ndash;400 words) content for client websites</li><li>
Edit and revise drafts based on client feedback as needed</li><li>
Apply SEO fundamentals, including keyword placement, internal linking, and proper header structure</li><li>
Use AI writing tools (specifically Claude) to assist in content production and efficiency</li><li>
Take a brief and execute independently &mdash; from research through final draft</li><li>
Submit completed content by <b>Friday each week</b> (standard deadline for all non-rush deliverables)</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
You Could Be a Great Fit If You:</b></h2><ul><li>
Have <b>1+ year of experience</b> in content or blog writing</li><li>
Have <b>hands-on experience writing content with AI tools</b> (familiarity with Claude or similar LLMs strongly preferred)</li><li>
Understand <b>SEO basics</b> &mdash; keyword usage, internal linking, header hierarchy, etc. You don't need to be an expert, but you should have a working knowledge</li><li>
Can provide a <b>portfolio that demonstrates a range</b> of different tones, industries, audiences, and content types</li><li>
Are highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to work independently on your own schedule</li><li>
Possess strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Preferred Qualifications</b></h2><ul><li>
Familiarity with <b>LLM-forward content writing</b> &mdash; understanding how to structure content for citation and visibility in AI search tools (this is a growing part of what Helium offers, and writers who already get this will ramp up faster)</li><li>
Willingness to complete a <b>short writing sample</b> as a final step before being brought on &mdash; we'll provide a brief, keyword, and style guide</li><li>
Experience with tools like ClickUp, Slack, Dropbox, or Google Suite</li><li>
Background in SEO content for B2B or B2C clients</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
