Role: WordPress ArchitectLocation: RemoteWe are looking for a WordPress Architect to lead the architecture and implementation of high-scale, performance-driven WordPress solutions across multiple brand websites. This role requires deep expertise in WordPress multisite architecture, Gutenberg block-based editing, caching/CDN strategies, and authoring workflows.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Architect and lead multisite WordPress platforms optimized for scalability, performance, and maintainability.</li><li>Design and implement a modular, reusable theme architecture to support multiple brands under a single multisite umbrella.</li><li>Define and optimize performance benchmarks including page load speed, Core Web Vitals, and server response time.</li><li>Collaborate with Cloudflare/DevOps teams to resolve cache invalidation issues (e.g., metadata not refreshing) and implement smart caching strategies.</li><li>Build and extend Gutenberg blocks to enable intuitive content creation and cross-site publishing.</li><li>Integrate WordPress with third-party systems (CRM, analytics, APIs, forms, personalization engines).</li><li>Drive the migration of legacy systems into a unified WordPress multisite or headless architecture.</li><li>Champion coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, security practices, and deployment workflows.</li><li>Work closely with UI/UX, SEO, and content teams to ensure brand consistency and editorial efficiency.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Expertise in PHP, WordPress Core, custom themes, and plugin development.</li><li>Strong experience with WordPress multisite and block editor (Gutenberg) customization.</li><li>Deep understanding of performance optimization: object caching, page caching, lazy loading, asset bundling.</li><li>Experience solving cache/CDN challenges (e.g., Cloudflare) and implementing cache-busting strategies.</li><li>Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, and headless WordPress (e.g., Next.js, Gatsby).</li><li>Knowledge of hosting platforms like WP Engine, Kinsta, or AWS/CloudFront.</li><li>Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and deployment automation.</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.</li></ul>Nice to Have<ul><li>Experience with Contentful, Strapi, or transitioning from WordPress to headless CMS.</li><li>Familiarity with accessibility (WCAG) and SEO best practices at scale.</li><li>Experience supporting multi-language or geo-targeted content across regions or brands.</li></ul>Thanks &amp; RegardsMuskan HardaTeam Lead Helix Tech IT ServicesMuskan.harda@helixtechinc.comJob Type: ContractPay: $94,114.41 - $113,342.09 per yearWork Location: Remote
