Helm Point Solutions is a woman-owned cybersecurity and physical security firm supporting the nation&rsquo;s most critical systems and infrastructure. We&rsquo;re seeking detail-oriented, security-cleared Cloud Software Engineer to support a program in the Ft. Meade area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and availability of large-scale cloud-based data systems and distributed processing environments.
What You&rsquo;ll Do 
In this role, you will:
<div><ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain the integrity, security, and availability of large-scale cloud-based Big Data systems.
</li>
<li>Implement and optimize distributed processing workflows across the Hadoop ecosystem (e.g., HDFS, MapReduce, Spark, Hive).
</li>
<li>Perform performance analysis, tuning, troubleshooting, and monitoring of cloud and data processing environments.
</li>
<li>Contribute to back-end data processing, analysis, and indexing to support high-volume, mission-critical applications.
</li>
<li>Develop and implement policies and best practices to ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud-based systems.
</li>
<li>Evaluate and integrate COTS/GOTS and open-source tools into cloud environments to improve performance and reduce development costs.
</li>
<li>Support the software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
</li>
</ul></div>What You Bring 
Required Qualifications:
<ul><li>At least three (3) years of hands-on experience as a software engineer working with cloud-based or distributed systems.
</li>
<li>At least three (3) years of experience developing with Java and applying Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles.
</li>
