As a member of the Middle East Engineering Support team, the candidate will work on design projects, site layouts, in-field supervision and oversight of installations and advise on structural and mechanical repairs. The candidate will be expected to work closely with regional and operational managers to ensure H&amp;P&rsquo;s engineering needs are met for Middle East operations. The candidate will work seamlessly with other engineers, drafting and field inspectors to accomplish the task at hand. The engineer will supply drawings, advisory and answer any engineering related requests from the district and field personnel. As a Project Engineer, the candidate will be expected to work hand in hand with the Eastern Hemisphere Engineering team to assist with in field audits, data gathering and other field-based assistance.</div><div></div><div>
What you will do:</div><ul><li>
Provide mechanical solutions for various projects on all rig components.</li><li>
Value engineer existing build programs as well as in-field upgrades.</li><li>
Coordinate construction projects with local fabricators.</li><li>
Design new mechanical equipment, hydraulic arrangements and analyze current builds for modification projects.</li><li>
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with H&amp;P&rsquo;s primary fabrication facilities regionally.</li><li>
Formalize technical reports from design analysis.</li><li>
Provide technical support for operations on structural repairs, in field upgrades as well as CAT III &amp; IV inspections.</li><li>
Mentor junior engineers and be available to advise cross functionally throughout the company.</li></ul><div></div><div>
Qualifications:</div><ul><li>
Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering</li><li>
Minimum of 2-3 years of mechanical/structural design experience, strong ability to perform and organize hand calculations and computer aided design analysis.</li><li>
Experience with drilling rig design is beneficial.</li><li>
Familiar with AISC design practices</li><li>
Familiarity with API specification and recommended practices is beneficial</li><li>
Knowledgeable on general structural steel fabrication practices, welding and improving fabrication drawings</li><li>
Familiar with hydraulic systems</li><li>
Strong ability to lead projects and be a self-starter.</li><li>
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software is beneficial.</li><li>
Team player with a service attitude</li><li>
Excellent communication and organizational skills</li><li>
Ability to work and communicate with office, shop, and oil field personnel</li><li>
In-country and regional travel required to fabrication facilities, assembly facilities, and rig locations.</li><li>

Responsibilities</div><ul><li><div>
Ensure all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with HSE standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.</div></li><li><div>
Lead and supervise rig personnel, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and overseeing daily activities.</div></li><li><div>
Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of rig staff.</div></li><li><div>
Define project objectives and develop operational plans in alignment with senior management directions, including manpower and resource requirements.</div></li><li><div>
Oversee and analyze all drilling operations, ensuring they meet performance targets and safety expectations; recommend procedure improvements when needed.</div></li><li><div>
Identify and implement updates to operating standards, procedures, and programs to optimize efficiency and reduce operational costs.</div></li><li><div>
Provide clear, concise communication to the team through written and verbal instructions.</div></li><li><div>
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare and submit proper documentation.</div></li><li><div>
Plan and manage the erection, dismantling, and mobilization of drilling rigs.</div></li><li><div>
Coordinate delivery of drilling tools, fuel, water, and all necessary materials to the site.</div></li><li><div>
Conduct rig inspections and prepare rig condition reports.</div></li><li><div>
Monitor equipment and rig condition to ensure preventive maintenance is carried out effectively.</div></li><li><div>
Evaluate wellbore conditions and communicate drilling outcomes.</div></li><li><div>
Serve as the main point of contact with on-site operating personnel and client representatives.</div></li><li><div>
Prepare operational reports, highlight drilling progress, identify challenges, and outline equipment needs for management review.</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
