 The Packaging Buyer will act as a subject matter expert (SME) in packaging procurement for Domestic &amp; global automotive business. The role requires comprehensive expertise in cost management, supplier negotiations, packaging development, and end-to-end supply chain coordination across multiple (6nos) manufacturing locations.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 About the Role
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Develop sourcing strategies, select suppliers, issue RFQs, conduct negotiations and comparative evaluations, create purchase orders (POs), and follow up on payments, material deliveries, and necessary statutory documentation. Identify cost-saving &ldquo;leap&rdquo; projects. Collaborate with other buyers on the team to leverage synergies.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities

 Source potential Vendors, manage the request for proposal (RFP) process, and evaluate vendor proposals based on factors such as functionality, pricing, warranty, after sales support.

 Creation of comparatives &amp; Purchase orders
 </li>
 <li>
 Price settlement with suppliers
 </li>
 <li>
 Annual rate contracts through i-certis.
 </li>

 Development of alternate Suppliers

 Maintain savings data on weekly basis

 Automation of processes &amp; e-procurement practices.

 New packaging development:
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct regular price reviews based on commodity price movements in paper, steel, and polythene to ensure cost competitiveness.
 </li>

 Lead packaging development initiatives for global automotive projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams (engineering, logistics, and quality).
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage the supply chain of packaging materials across six manufacturing locations, ensuring seamless availability and standardization.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop and execute packaging cost models and benchmarking for items such as corrugated boxes, laminates, bubble wraps, steel boxes, and wooden crates.
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive supplier performance management, including cost optimization, quality improvement, and delivery reliability.
 </li>

Develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier selection, issue RFQs, negotiate, compare bids, generate purchase orders (POs), and follow up on payments and material deliveries, including completing required statutory documentation.
