POSITION OVERVIEW</div><div>

The Executive Director of Operations will lead the transformation of our nationwide food distribution network. This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role with responsibility for warehouse capacity expansion, optimizing warehouse operations, driving fleet efficiency, and introducing advanced automation solutions to enhance performance and scalability.</div><div></div><div>
Reporting directly to the President &amp; CEO and working closely with the rest of the senior leadership team, the Executive Director of Operations will drive operational excellence, cost efficiency, and superior service delivery, while building and developing high-performing teams that support the company&rsquo;s growth objectives.</div><div></div><div>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</div><div></div><div>
Operational Leadership</div><ul><li>
Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple distribution centers, ensuring accuracy, safety, and top-tier service to our customers.</li><li>
Lead new warehouse buildout and expansion programs.</li><li>
Lead warehouse optimization initiatives including layout design, process improvements, and technology adoption.</li><li>
Provide strategic oversight to fleet operations, emphasizing route optimization, safety improvements, and maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and efficiency.</li><li>
Establish and monitor KPIs for safety, cost control, service levels, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment.</li></ul><div></div><div>
Automation &amp; Innovation</div><ul><li>
Collaborate with IT, DC General Managers, and external vendors to evaluate and implement advanced technologies such as robotics, WMS/TMS upgrades, AI-driven forecasting, and fleet telematics.</li><li>
Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.</li></ul><div></div><div>
Strategic Planning</div><ul><li>
Develop long-term strategies to align operations with growth objectives, including capacity planning and market expansion.</li><li>
Partner with Finance and Accounting, Sales, and Supply Chain to align operations with financial goals and customer demand.</li><li>
Prepare executive-level reports and presentations that clearly communicate operational performance, initiatives, and strategic recommendations to the senior leadership team.</li></ul><div></div><div>
Leadership &amp; People Management</div><ul><li>
Inspire, coach, and grow a strong leadership bench across warehouse and fleet management teams.</li><li>
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and transportation standards.</li></ul><div></div><div>
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:</div><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management (MBA a plus).</li><li>
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in a distribution or logistics environment.</li><li>
A proven record of driving operational efficiency in warehouses (required) and fleet management (a plus).</li><li>
Excellent communication skills to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.</li><li>
Strong financial acumen and ability to balance cost optimization with service excellence.</li><li>
Skilled at leading through rapid change, building engaged teams, and fostering collaboration across departments and diverse teams.</li></ul><div></div><div>
