This role supports senior leadership by providing economic insights and managing core accounting processes.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow reporting and budget-to-actual analysis in accordance with GAAP.</li><li>Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.</li><li>Work with external auditors to provide required schedules for the annual accounting review.</li><li>Support the executive team with relevant financial data and reports.</li><li>Develop budgets and forecasts; monitor performance and identify variances.</li><li>Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making, pricing, and margin management.</li><li>Work with external and internal systems teams to ensure that transactions are effectively recorded and reported.</li><li>Champion the use of ERP systems and technology to streamline financial processes.</li></ul>Operational &amp; Strategic Support<ul><li>Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations.</li><li>Oversee daily banking activities and perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash positions and report weekly to the CFO &amp; President.</li><li>Ensure daily cash balance reporting and month-end closings.</li><li>Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure financial data accuracy.</li><li>Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns.</li><li>Stay informed about changes in tax regulations affecting the LBM industry.</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Risk Management<ul><li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.</li><li>Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.</li><li>Oversee AR/AP, payroll, and credit management functions.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.</li></ul>Candidates must hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field from an accredited 4-year university.<ul><li>4+ years of progressive accounting experience.</li><li>Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Industry experience in building materials, retail, manufacturing, or distribution is strongly preferred.</li><li>Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, NetSuite, Sage, or similar) and advanced Excel/spreadsheet skills.</li><li>Strong understanding of internal controls, inventory management, and multi-location operations. Role Overview
